to think my friend is lying about being drugged?

So last Saturday night we had a girls night out (group of 7).

Walking to a different bar, some walking further ahead etc. I was at the back (damn ridiculous high heels!) when we reached one of my friends(A) in floods of tears. Apparently one of our friends (B) had told A that friend (C) was dead.

(Friend C was out with us at the time but was much further ahead of us). Friend A thought she'd been in some sort of accident and was inconsolable - I think obviously this was heightened with how much she had to drink.

After an argument between A and B when the truth was friend C was fine. Que friend B storming off. I called her and she said she was in a taxi on the way home.

All is forgiven now. But friend B keeps saying that she only said what she did because someone drugged her in the bar we had just left.

aibu to think she is just lying about being drugged because she's quite embarrassed about what she said?

Already stated that friend C was really far infront, you couldn't even see her.

Not really the issue though is it?

Well rightly or wrongly I find it rather amusing that one could be so drunk as to genuinely believe that your drinking companion had somehow managed to die at rather short notice on route to your next pub.

I don't drink anymore but even I'm quite surprised how judgy people are being about grown women getting pissed.

Not sure why, but this is making me laugh a bit. Fancy walking along with your group of mates, one starts balling because another mate just got killed. Right, so you'd still be plodding along, leaving the fallen comrade? Comedy gold!

Actually, you should all be laughing at this, OP. In years to come, you'll all be looking back at the time when B told A that C had died between pubs, and A believed her.

I think, Yer, because I for one find it hard to believe that a stone cold sober adult could burst into tears at this when an ounce of common sense would tell them it could not be true

So at the very least, two of them were wearing the wobbly boots!

I wonder how she died, any news on that little bit of the story? I twisted my ankle pretty bad in my Iron Fist 'Manslayer' shoes back in October, I could've died...one hell of a story and one hell of a way to go.

Perhaps the answer is that the op needs to get properly hammered so she can see everything in the same weird light that A and B do

1. If your friend says she was drugged, probably on balance it's a good idea to at least act as if you believe her. You'd feel utterly shit if you found out it was true and you hadn't been supportive of something like that.

2. I think if this is what happens when you go out and get pissed, it's time to cut back or, erm, think happy thoughts! Imagine how much more fun you'd have had if you'd been telling slurry tall stories about dating George Clooney in your earlier years?

In fact, if the OP wasn't punctuated so well, I'd be asking if Sharon was out with them and whether they'd been doing t-rex on the walk.

So, HOW would B know that C got killed, if B and A were together, and C far ahead? And how could A possibly believe B, considering they were together, and not with C?

But more importantly, if you were 7, which letter were you? D, E, F, or were you maybe Zzzzzz ....

Friend B: (drunk but not stupidly so) I don't know, up ahead somewhere.
Friend A: Oh where is she? Where has she gone B?
Friend B: She's up ahead, don't worry.

Friend B: She's fucking dead A that's where she is, she's dead!

Someone spiked my drink with an E when I was 20, bloody awful but I remember everything.

They must have drunk some to say and fall for that one. How did she die then?
