I chose a space that had the best view, locked up and left the car for the whole day. I had to walk further to get to where i was going, but it felt right.

Perfectly normal. I like to vary my route so mine doesn't get depressed driving the same old roads every day.

My car is a classic and I treat it the same. I hate when I can't see it and cleared the garage and had extra locks installed for it.

Do you know that assigning emotions to inanimate objects is a symptom of ASD? My DH has to rotate which shoes he wears so none of them feel left out. He doesn't have a dx of ASD but it wouldn't surprise me!

i feel bad for my car. it's not a classic, it's a poor old fiat punto.

i think it liked the sea, it defrosted quickly for me when i got back in. I used to have a ford escort that would get moody with me for not using it.

I always park Esme in nice places and so that she has interesting company. Not unreasonable at all ;-)

I have a smart car and a land rover. If I see another smart car I like to park mine near it so it has a 'friend' to talk to. With my Landie, she's a v old series II and I love to park her within spitting distance of a modern land rover to 'show what a real landrover looks like'. I always imagine her having a bit of a spit and snarl when I am out of view.

Goldmandra That's really interesting, DS has ASD and does not do this but I used to feel sorry for potatoes when I peeled them, I worried they'd be cold all undressed. I have trained myself to be less sensitive now but still assign feelings to random objects. Perhaps DS's ASD has been inherited from me.

I think I also used to worry as a child that toys would feel left out if not played with/cuddled, although I do seem to have grown out of that kind of behaviour..
I have only ever named one car but I have never imagined them to have personalities.
