but hear me out.

i parked yesterday miles away from the store, in an area with no other cars, got children out and did my shopping. when i had got back there was another car (range rover type) parked so close to me i couldnt open the driver door so i loaded the shopping and put both babies in from the same empty side all the time getting more and more annoyed.

so i lost it and wrote in the dirt on the door of the car "learn to park FREAK"

they could see i had two baby seats and that i needed to get in, why could they not of parked one space away.

aibu just to expect some courtesy.

YANBU.

Someone parked right across our driveway the other week and I wrote them a very unpleasant note indeed. It is sheer lack of consideration on their part.

bradyismyfavouritewiseman · 04/12/2012 14:27

Can you say 'over reaction'?

degutastic · 04/12/2012 14:29

Assuming that you hadn't parked up on the edge of your space (so when the RR parked within the lines in a sensible manner, it would prevent your door from opening - i.e. you parked unreasonably!) then no, I think yanbu - it's highly frustrating and unnecessary.

and I drive a landy

LoopsInHoops · 04/12/2012 14:30

Not U IMO.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 04/12/2012 14:30

What has the make of the car got to do with it?

Any car parked to close would have stopped you from getting your dc in.

Or are you just after another 4x4 row?

And tbh I think your reaction was ott. Wasn't as ifyou couldn't get them in at all.

BumpingFuglies · 04/12/2012 14:31

Very frustrating, but writing a message on the car and putting FREAK was very U and childish. A note would have been better.

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:31

i know i over reacted,

there was about 10 spaces either side, no consideration for any one else. i like to park here cause i dont have to worry about lots of crowding

I never look in other cars to see if they have car seats or not. Is this something that drivers are expected to do? There may well have been another car on the other side when this particular car arrived. You evidently managed, so whilst it was a bit difficult this hardly counts a huge problem.

MyLastDuchess · 04/12/2012 14:33

Yes it was an overreaction but as these things go I think it was fairly minor. I can imagine your frustration and I bet you're pretty tired too which doesn't help.

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:34

i was in the middle of the space the other car was over the line my side hense, the problem.

no issue with 4 x 4's either, if i ever win the lottery i would have one. i dream about an evoke.

OP posts:
MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:36

no other cars where anywhete near when i parked just me and the either when i got back.

SpringHeeledJack · 04/12/2012 14:36

have you got twins?

if so YAmostDEFinitelyNBU

shopping with twin babies is ghastly. I bet you already found that the only double trolley had gone- only to see someone pushing it round the store with her fucking bag on the second baby seat

peeriebear · 04/12/2012 14:37

Yanbu... I once left a note saying "You park like a tool" on a big silver car that had been parked completely across a wide footpath- it wasn't a parking space in any universe. I had to walk in the busy road with DD2 in her buggy to get by.

degutastic · 04/12/2012 14:38

yabu to dream about range rovers though Wink Vile, ugly things. Give me a refurbished original series disco or a nice shiny Defender any day...

ducks for cover

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:40

not twins 16 months between them, still two small children. tesco has lots of double trolleys fortunately.

EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 04/12/2012 14:42

Were they both in a pram/trolley?

You could have put them safely to one side then moved the car over?

SquirtedFrankinScentsInStable · 04/12/2012 14:43

youd be better dreaming of an evoque. Xmas Smile

Frontpaw · 04/12/2012 14:43

I ad ire your ability to reach the windscreen! I would probably have written a far worse word.

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:43

i never thought of that, i put the furthest dd in, with the trolley with the break on by the car and then put ds in closest.

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:45

OP posts:
EverlongLovesHerChristmasRobin · 04/12/2012 14:45

MrsBucketxx · 04/12/2012 14:46

AlienRefluxLooksLikeSnow · 04/12/2012 14:47

No I don't think UWU. I would have thought about how close I had parked if I had chosen the only space for ages with another car in it, but then I'm shit at parking, so always check!
