I have a horrid cold and one symptom is sneezing a lot. I keep pissing myself :( Does anyone else resort to incontinence pads?

Sorry you're not feeling well. I'm a bit embarrased to say that I now resort to Tena Lady pads for when I go running Blush.

If you're not feeling very well anyway, the last thing you want is to have damp pants - go on and treat yourself.

BrawToken · 01/12/2012 17:40

Glad I am not alone Queen! But sorry to hear about the running. I am on my third pair of knickers and trousers, so might as well.

Lonecatwithkitten · 01/12/2012 17:46

They are much better than panty liners. Episitotomy and third degree tear left things in a way that no amount of pelvic floor exercises can fix and believe me I have tried.

I do agility and Tena lady mean I can run after my dog without fear of embrassment.

tedmundo · 01/12/2012 17:53

I am 6 months pregnant and full of a cold so suffering the same indignities.

I have tena on the shopping list for tomorrow(note to self .. Don't leave that one in the shopping trolley for some Mner to post about in Chat).

As soon as this baby is out I am buying a pelvic floor exerciser. 4.5 stars on amazon must be worth a shot for £50.

MrsReiver · 01/12/2012 19:02

Same situation as TedMundo - 6 months pregnant, stinking cold, Tena Lady is my new BFF. Needs must.

catgirl1976geesealaying · 01/12/2012 19:07

I may join you

I have pneumonia and everytime I cough I pee :(

I'm not pg, DS is 1

(to be fair he was 9lb 1 and forceps) :(

MrsReiver · 01/12/2012 19:09

Oh I've had pneumonia and if I recall correctly I was using panty liners then as well. And DS was 7 at the time Xmas Grin

SauvignonBlanche · 01/12/2012 19:09

YABU, Always Envive are better. Blush

BrawToken · 01/12/2012 19:09

At least you, ted and Mrs, have pregnancy as an excuse. My kids are 4 and 15 so I think I am doomed to be peeing my pants forever. Don't even get me started on the trampoline....

OP posts:
Twinklestarstwinklestars · 01/12/2012 19:10

Agree always envive are better.

catgirl1976geesealaying · 01/12/2012 19:10

I also have my period and a coldsore

I may throw a little pity party for myself piss soaked self [gron]

Tailtwister · 01/12/2012 19:11

No OP, you're not alone. I hate it when I get a nasty cough or worse still, a tummy bug. The indignity of peeing yourself involuntarily is horrible. I've always just used ordinary sanitary pads, but will have a look at Tena lady ones.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/12/2012 19:11

I wore a free one last night I got in the post as my period started.

It had paper pants attached to it too! I offered to show DH several times but he didnt want to see. Sad Grin

It was very comfy actually.

IneedAsockamnesty · 01/12/2012 19:12

Chest infection here but I was far to embarrassed to actually buy the tena lady whilst I was in boots so sadly I have just suffered the indignity of coughing in the street it was to unexpected to cross my legs in time.

Wish I had have brought them given that its way more embarrassing pissing your self in public

elfycat · 01/12/2012 19:18

I have been using tena lady for the last week or so. I had a chesty cough that left me unable to stand at times, let alone hold onto my dignity. I'm embarrassed to admit that it hasn't even been the 'lights' but the big green and blue ones. Lights say for those little ooops moments - I needed way more than that.

I've been careful in chosing my clothing, but please note that large full tena pads do leave a change of shape in the skinny jeans/leggings bottom area.

If anyone at Tena wants a product tester Xmas Grin

GeekLove · 01/12/2012 19:18

It had occurred to me that there will be many women of childbareing age in nappies last time I was pregnant so i wouldn't let it worry you. I got the big pants when ds2 was due in case my waters broke. I found them very comfy post birth for keeping pads in as well.

EverythingsDozy · 01/12/2012 20:29

I have had to buy tena ladys and im only 22 Sad

TartyMcTart · 01/12/2012 21:12

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!! I've got a horrendous cough which gets so much worse in the evenings. I've got through 3 pairs of pyjamas bottoms since 6pm Blush

I've resorted to sanitary pads as I just can't bring myself to buy Tena Lady. I'm only 36! God, I wish I'd done my pelvic floor exercises after DS1 & 2 Sad

NaturallyGullible · 01/12/2012 21:15

I wear Always Envive every day. I am not ashamed or embarrassed by this.

EverythingsDozy · 01/12/2012 21:21

I had stress incontinence before children. Is there officially no hope for me?!

lovebunny · 01/12/2012 21:39

my dad's had a kidney op and he's using them at the moment. they make them for men but he says the lady's ones are better.

sausagesandwich34 · 01/12/2012 21:45

have none of you ladies gone to the docs about this??

you really don't have to accept it as normal -there is a lot of help out there

speaks from experience

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 01/12/2012 21:50

I also had an episiotomy and a third degree tear so Tena Lady pads are bought along with my regular groceries! I did not CHOOSE to have a huge tear. I did not CHOOSE to become slightly incontinent. That's how I am. If any fucker wants to think bad of me for having that problem, they can go and fuck themselves.

Too many women are embarrased about this and so many women suffer from it. Fuck those arseholes who think it is a laughing matter. Cos it bloody isn't.

Proper incontinence pads are better than sanitary towels because of the odour masking and thinness and absorbency.

Buy them and use them, FFS!

Angry Sad Grin

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 01/12/2012 21:53

Sausage, i went to a physio and got fed up with having her stick her fingers in my fanny, while I clenched and tightened and swooped and stuff. It was dreadful.

I am doubt that with the episiotomy and tear I had that any amount of pelvic floor exercises will do any good.

sausagesandwich34 · 01/12/2012 21:54

I had the physio, it didn't work

went back to GP, insisted on referal to urologist, small op and I'm like a new woman!
