to think the window cleaner is rude...

...because when he comes to do my windows he's always got his hands free up and running and has a full on telephone conversation whilst he is cleaning my windows.I was outside working away and i just felt it was really rude of him and i didn't like to hear him gnattering away about SFA in a thick cockney accent talking about boxing and rubbish like that whilst he was cleaning my windows.I think he can eff off next time i don't like him.

Received Pronunciation- like posh people speak on radio 4.

Ah.
Spot the person who doesn't listen to Radio 4 much.
The Beeb had a purge on posh speakers years ago.

Come on, you lot. Leave this thread now, it's the end. Move along, nothing to see. You're weird if you're still here!

MissChristmastRee · 29/11/2012 16:54

Err YABU. I suspect most of his clientele are at work when he does his rounds - bit of a lonely job if that's the case.

Find a new window cleaner if it bothers you that much!

TheVermiciousKnid · 29/11/2012 16:54

I'm not really here.

If you don't like it OP I suggest you go out when the window cleaner is there and leave the money in the porch for him.

Or clean your own windows.

ArkadyRose · 29/11/2012 16:55

If you don't like someone talking whilst washing your windows, wash them yourself.

If you don't like being told you're being unreasonable, don't post here.

Simple really.

TheVermiciousKnid · 29/11/2012 16:56

Ahem!

MammaTJ · 29/11/2012 16:57

I love AIBU!!

OP says AIBU, gets told they are, tells everyone else they are wrong!!

WHY ASK THEN?

Btw, another one here who says you are!!

carocaro · 29/11/2012 17:00

Me too, £6 for a 4 bed house, Ooop North rocks!

carocaro · 29/11/2012 17:02

Cockaney would be OK with me, but if they were Brummie I would have push the ladder gently away from the house! :-)

SunRaysthruClouds · 29/11/2012 17:04

OP from your thread title I thought you were at least going to say he watched you through the windows while you were DTD. Maybe he does but you don't mind.

But no of course, you're right, talking to someone else on the phone is despicable behaviour.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 29/11/2012 17:05

£8. 3 bed house north London.

Op not only is your window cleaner pissing you off, he is ripping you off as well.

OneMoreChap · 29/11/2012 17:05

TheVermiciousKnid
You're weird if you're still here!

tbh, I'm weird even if I'm not (still here).

GlaikitFizzog · 29/11/2012 17:06

You obviously have to terminate your agreement with him then OP. and when you look for a new window cleaner, ask what their interests are, otherwise you will have nothing to chat about for the 20 minutes he is cleaning your windows!

Why would you want to have a conversation with someone up a ladder is beyond me! But hey! I used to invite my window cleaner in for coffee of the really cold days! He was a moonlighting fireman and rather lovely looking!!

Op were you wanting to instigate a conversation in the hope a beautiful friendship would blossom? :o

So you expect your staff to not talk to others while on your property

You're right OP, that's not weird in any way. No, no, not at all.

It's perfectly normal to expect to be able to control your staff in this way.

Hmm
LauriesFairyonthetreeeatsCake · 29/11/2012 17:11

Wait - did you expect him to be one of those sort of window cleaners Wink

Like Eddie(?) the soft porn window cleaner from the 70's

In short - you wanted to fuck him for that £25 didn't you?

Hmm
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 29/11/2012 17:14

At least he was using his hands free, that way he can still doff his cap and tug his forelock.

bumbagsnbananaslides · 29/11/2012 17:14

i also make him cups of tea and chat to him for 5 in the garden

ImperialStateKnickers · 29/11/2012 17:15

BrainSurgeon · 29/11/2012 17:17
