To think however much a teacher dislkes their colletion of best teacher mugs they shouldh't

Give them to the charity shop nearest the school with the packaging and more importantly all the little messages written by the children still on them - they were packs with to / from panels on the side

I noticed them this morning looking for a coat for DD. 10 mugs all with little messages eg - to Mrs X thank you for being a great teacher love X

DDs in that teachers class this year and while I don't give mugs as I don't like them it puts me off buying her anything at all I usually give teachers wine

miserable cow. DH gets mugs like this from his students and uses all of them! I wouldn't buy her anything if it were me. She's obv not very good at receiving gifts

I've no idea why teachers get presents anyway.

I recommend children should put a frog in the teachers handbag on the last day of term.

I can understand giving them to a charity shop but take the labels off first fgs!

It's not difficult to give them to a charity shop in a different area and remove the labels is it? If you really want to buy a gift for a teacher make it something that is consumable.

I remember a thread on here about a teacher binning all the homemade food, cookies etc because she didn't trust it had been made under hygienic standards she could risk eating. Puts you off bothering sometimes, although we do tend just have a class rep type collection.

DS's teacher is Vegan and we are making him Vegan Brownies so I hope he doesn't bin them. Oh and a tie that plays 'We wish you a Merry Christmas'. He is the best teacher ever though.

I wouldn't eat food made by kids unless I'd supervised the cooking process either. Remember the sucked candy cane in the cake thread from the other day .

One time, at uni, we made our lecturer pot brownies. She had a party at her house for Xmas and gobbled them up. She was French and very avant-garde and lovely and after eating them told her husband, 'Joel, I do not think these are innocent brownies.' :o
