To think there is no logical explanation for DP wearing kids underwear?

I noticed a pair of boxer shorts on my bedroom floor, picked them up, looked at the label (as I didn't recognise them!) and it said "age 13/14". So I assumed they must belong to DS (who is 13). But then, tucked into a pile of my boyfriend's clothes (he stayed here last night) I saw another pair of boxer shorts, same make and obviously from the same pack - aged 13/14.

What madness is this? why would a grown man wear/buy kids boxers?? He's skinny but 6ft tall. He's actually wearing the same size boxers as my son!!

We don't live together so this is the first time I've noticed this. No explanation really is there?? why would he have bought them? its not as if there is a shortage of mens boxers around! makes no sense!

"Oh god I don't think I could cope with my husband wearing smaller jeans than me!"

You'd hate being with my DP then. He's a 28" waist and I'm a size 16!

HoneyDragon · 24/11/2012 20:48

Erm. The only other option we've not yet addressed

Op - Do you actually know how old your dp is? Grin

Namechange for me I think.

Grin at HoneyDragon

I buy childrens socks all the time would buy other clothes but I'm too fat

Was a bit embarrassing when I went to toddler group and discovered my friend's 18 month old and I were wearing matching socks Blush

If 13 year old's pants fit him, then adults probably wouldn't? Is he very thin?

ElectricMonk · 24/11/2012 21:16

There may be a story behind it - I have 5 pairs of M&Co knickers, size 12-13yrs, which were bought in odd circumstances but still get worn. I needed to buy some underwear in a rush before a surprise holiday, and M&Co's size 8s were like parachutes...

My friend buys childrens shoes and childrens clothes because she is petite and skinny and they are much cheaper than womens petite range! I once bought a lovely stripy red top from Pumpkin Patch for her for £2. It didn't look like childs wear.

So yeah...it's cheaper.

Obviously likes a firm package!

mrskeithrichards · 24/11/2012 21:34

Yeah my dh's waist is probably smaller than mine but actually seeing it in sizes would freak me out!

AKissIsNotAContract · 24/11/2012 21:45

Perhaps he thought the sizing went by inches rather than age.

hattymattie · 24/11/2012 21:52

This sounds like a practise for the Mrs Mills column.

notsofrownieface · 24/11/2012 21:56

Um where is the op?

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 24/11/2012 21:59

Has no one seen socks post!!! :o

AudrinaAdare · 24/11/2012 22:36

Yes where are you OP? Fuck the pants, I want to take you to task about the "Anne" bit of your name. Did you make that up? I now want dig out "My Sweet Audrina" and check but it's in the loft and DH would have me committed if I did it now.

bedhaven · 26/11/2012 03:54

My DH looked hot in his Stella McCartney for gap kids age 15 pants! Complete with robots and days of the week!! If you're slim enough for cheaper ones why not? I often wish they did kids tights in adult sizes much nicer patterns.
