naturalbaby · 24/11/2012 20:25

This thread is dumbing down MN by exposing the lowest of the judgy pants wearing low. The OP hasn't had any threads deleted for personal insults but several others have stooped that low.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 24/11/2012 20:27

psychomum5 · 24/11/2012 20:54

the only reason why she hasn;t had anything deleted is because MNHQ are still trying to work out what she has said!!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 24/11/2012 21:06

I think this thread is anything but dumbing down.
Da iawn pawb sy'n dysgu cymraeg.
Popty ping is the best welsh phrase ever.

Shaky · 24/11/2012 21:24

Ha ha, I think about 3 people in the whole world saw it, including my mum Grin

tittytittyhanghang · 24/11/2012 21:27

Threads like this actually make me hate mn. Clearly if your not some middle class, well educated, and possess the ability to write with proper grammer and no spelling mistakes, then you are ridiculed. Some of the replies on this come across as so fucking condescending. OP I understood pretty much everything you have written, and I guess i'll be in the minorty and say I dont see anything wrong with putting a little colour on your toddler's hair, nor ear piercing at an early age, or even calling your child Tyson (not my choice but I doubt my ds's names are everyone else's choices neither).

SirBoobAlot · 24/11/2012 21:38

Colouring a young child's hair I think is ridiculous.

Piercing young children's ears I think should be criminal.

If you put a piece of metal through any other part of someone elses body because you thought it looked good, you would be arrested. Why does the fact that they are related to you, are younger than you, and you think it looks pretty make it okay?

I have huge issues with child ear piercing.

TalkativeJim · 24/11/2012 21:49

Dammit OP has gone.

I wanted to ask her how long she did hairdressing for

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 24/11/2012 22:00

I'm sorry but I couldn't work out what the question was, as I was too busy counting spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors. I found 33. That's pretty impressive in barely 6 lines.

EmpressOfTheMadBoxOfFrogs · 24/11/2012 22:40

The thing is, HQ obviously think the OP's genuine or surely they'd have deleted the thread by now.

If she doesn't write much, like she says, can't really blame her for her writing style. We'd be condemning an awful lot of people in that case.

I wouldn't dye a toddler's hair either but I think we need to look past the punctuation. The OP does sound like she loves her kids (and not in the Peter Andre sense). And she had the guts (or bloodymindedness) to stay & fight it out.

larks35 · 24/11/2012 23:01

I haven't read the whole thread but the OP reeked of piss-take and then everyone fell hook, line and sinker and started judging the name of her son. What did that have to do with it? Tyson is a well established boy's name, yes maybe some dog-owners call their pets the same name but then I know dogs with names like Sally, Alfie, Jack etc.

FWIW in case the whole thing is genuine then OP, I would probably in my own head be judgey about seeing a toddler with dyed hair, BUT I wouldn't take the mother to task over it. I don't think a bit of temporary dye is gonna do much harm.

Beertricks nowhere near!

I used to live in a welsh speaking village so I was used to hearing a lot of welsh around me. I also learned some welsh in school. I was nowhere near fluent but could often follow the gist of a conversation. I was a bit crap. Though because I would have to translate into English, think about what I wanted to say than translate into welsh.

I did learn a lot though, I could do an antenatal check in welsh (I'm a midwife)

Like I said before op, you are not coming across to me personally as a bad mother at all. You clearly love your son and want him to be happy, that really does come across. You just need to be aware of perceptions as you don't want people to judge Tyson unfairly based on his appearance. YWBU to swear at the lady but SWBU. to call you out in public when a quiet word or saying nothing at all x
