I think the chicken one is good. I have tried to make chicken stock, twice and it was absolutely awful and had to be thrown out. I don't add any extra salt, and between 4 people (plus extra portions for freezing) it isn't very much salt. Plus the fact I have low blood pressure and run/gym 4 times a week. I could do with a bit of salt.
Mostly I use the regular Knorr or Oxo cubes. I don't have the space to store litres of different home made stock all the time.
Jeez, I think I deserve a bloody medal for cooking a variety of healthy meals for four people from scratch nearly all the time that my 8 and 4 year old will eat (who are exactly the right weight they ought to be, concentrate and are well-behaved at school, sleep well and don't have dental problems) and on two days a week making separate things for me as well for the Fast Diet.
Incensed? I think I ought to be for being berated for nothing at all. Life is not a competition to see who can knit the most lentils. I love lentils by the way. FUCK OFF.
