Indiscretion by head teacher and I am FUMING

Regular but namechanged

I recently withdrew my DC from a specific collective worship part of assembly at Primary school. I came to this decision after a discussion with the Head and we were both happy after a pleasant chat.

I have not discussed my reasons with anyone else, simply because it's not a big issue to bother anyone with!

I was asked about my decision from a friend not linked with our school, she had heard it from someone else.... the chain of people 'discussing' me includes my Childminder who is a regular churchgoer.

AIBU to be fuming with anger? What do I do? How do I raise this as a serious complaint because even though it is just 'talk' it proves the Head has been indiscreet.

Could it be they were picking children to do eg readings and the teacher said to your dc who asked to do one, "no you won't be at the assembly"

Not slanderous anyway. It's true, and anyway if it wasn't true it's not insulting you really is it?

Don't know why op is getting a hard time about expecting this stuff not to become gossip at this stage. O cour the head needs to tell people, but pretty sure the childminder isn't one of them. And sure people may notice when it starts, but it hasn't so it is gossip. I think we should all be able to expect a conversation between a parent and the head to be automatically confidential, with the exception of disclosure where required for people to do there jobs.

Anyway, op I would see the head and mention what you have heard but with no specific accusations but with a request to look into how this managed to makes its way into village gossip.
