20% no less Shock.

Ok I new it wasn't a health food but I didn't know it had palm oil in. (label just says vegetable oil).

thanks lljkk I wasn't aware of the extraction process but if you say that most vegetable oils are extracted with solvents then its not specifically rapeseed oil you have a problem with?

I don't find olive oil good to cook at high temperatures though I'm not sure why and coconut oil too high in saturated fat for my dodgy cholesterol levels.

I don't use much oil in cooking but perhaps I'll look for cold pressed rapeseed oil.

Blimey. The thing you had never even thought about. Until MN!

I think anything that says "vegetable oil" without elaboration has issues with it, sadly.

Are you sure your individual cholesterol levels react to saturated fats in your diet? I know it's not a consistent response for everyone. My aunt jokes that she only has to look at an egg for her cholesterol levels to rise.

I would have suggested lard otherwise, for cooking at high temps.

YANBU. I've been boycotting anything with "palm oil" on the list of ingredients because of the environmental implications, and now feel conned that companies have been calling it other things Angry. I can't help but think they know people are becoming more aware so try and hide it from us.

I have a solution! Buy the new Philadelphia Chocolate. Although, to be honest, having read the ingredients, I think Palm Oil will be the least of your worries!

Good Idea Cat. I'm not so worried about fat content as DD2 needs fattening up a bit.
