oh my goodness. in a communications class last year we had to do an impromptu presentation (well we had a 30 minutes to prepare a 3 minute presentation). i chose "The apostrophe". The rest of my class probably thought 'mad old woman, who cares?'. or more likely 'who care's?'

another one that annoys me is definAtely. so many people write that. funny because if they were to write just definite I think they would get it right but put ly on the end and they change it to an a.

i also hate seperate. ok, i know that people write what they hear but it is still a very common word that 80% of the populate get wrong.

There's a take away near me which has kebab's, burger's, chip's and pizzas. I don't understand why pizzas doesn't get a superfluous apostrophe too.
