To think some posters come up with crazy scenarios to say YABU

You know the kind of thing. Someone posts about a mother of 5 children allowing the kids to behave outrageously in a restaurant and people come back with:

"YABU. How do you know that all five children don't have SNs."

"YABU. How do you know she was their mother? She could have been a family friend whose christian name just happens to be 'mum'".

Imagine if people went on like that in RL. You would never, ever be able to have a proper conversation because it would just drift off into fantasy land after 5 mins.

Mintyy I've just read that thread. I'm with you on that one. It is vile. The lazy fecker should take their dog poo home with them and dispose of it there. Bleugh.

Jusfloatingby · 02/11/2012 14:51

anklebiter I got gang attacked yesterday (I wasn't even the OP) on a thread about 4x4s so am beyond bravery.

Mum

There are fewer than 1,573 people in the U.S. with the first name Mum.

Bet you feel pretty silly right now OP? Grin YANBU seriously though I think some people must spend all day coming up with these crappy responses.

complexnumber · 02/11/2012 14:53

How do we know the OP is not, in fact, a dog posting on the internet?

cheekydevil · 02/11/2012 14:58

Are you calling the OP a DOG! ......fight!

Jusfloatingby · 02/11/2012 14:58

A dog called 'Mum' maybe??

OP posts:
Jusfloatingby · 02/11/2012 14:59

anklebitersmum · 02/11/2012 15:01

Jusfloatingby I read that 4x4 thread yesterday..had to reach for the kettle Wink

EmpressOfTheSevenRomanCandles · 02/11/2012 15:02

No problem Jus Smile.

Link to the Scottish green leggings thread anyone?

WorraLiberty · 02/11/2012 15:06

I love the carefully crafted AIBU where the OP tries to preempt every conceivable reply, and dismiss it in the opening post.

"AIBU to think my neighbour should pay to chop down the tree in his garden?"

He's not on any benefits, has zero balance on all his credit cards, his blood pressure is 120/80, aged 57.3yrs, no allergies, total family income of £67k, no grand children, doesn't eat jaffa cakes and has never suffered from any back problems in his life.

Shall I pop a note through his door because I don't really know him well enough to talk to?

Pascha · 02/11/2012 15:08

Well, HE is NBU becuase he quite rightly avoids jaffa cakes.

EarnestDullard · 02/11/2012 15:09

Ha, my grandmother's name was Nan. I wonder if strangers everywhere assumed eveyone who spoke to her must be her grandchild HmmGrin

Jusfloatingby · 02/11/2012 15:10

YABU Worral How do you know it is a tree? It could be a garden shed shaped to look like a tree. Why would you want someone to chop down their garden shed. WHY?????

OP posts:
anklebitersmum · 02/11/2012 15:12

no, sorry can't have that Pascha absolutely is BU if he doesn't eat Jaffa Cakes Grin

WorraLiberty · 02/11/2012 15:14

Why would you want someone to chop down their garden shed. WHY?????

Chop??

How do you know he's not a vegetarian???

You don't, do you? Hmm

Jusfloatingby · 02/11/2012 15:15

Well how do you know he's not a vegetarian who also eats chops?

OP posts:
anklebitersmum · 02/11/2012 15:16

Yeah, in secret in his tree shaped shed..

WorraLiberty · 02/11/2012 15:20

It's at this point the OP panics and drip feeds that he's a farmer and eats his own hand reared lambs Grin

fishcalledwonder · 02/11/2012 15:21

YANBU. I think some posters are ready to disagree before they have even read the post. It winds me up when the post was clearly meant to be light hearted. Often the 'professionally unoffended' (love that!) are also the 'sense of humour bypass' posters.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 02/11/2012 15:24

Am I being unreasonable...I am the actual wheelie bin and I really don't like the taste of dog shi*t.....

So should I have it force fed to me like a Pate De Fois Gras turd?

Sad
anklebitersmum · 02/11/2012 15:24

Grin WorraLiberty

cinnamonnut · 02/11/2012 15:25

MadamFolly · 02/11/2012 15:34

A q maybe?

Don't have a go, the dog might be dyslexic!
