I have a firm, muscled calf (cyclist) and a tiny narrow foot (size 3). Can't get a boot for love nor money, all those skinny-calved wenches can slip into anything and it grips my shit. YANBU. At all.

Same as Wilson - I have some lovely knee length boots that I love. Then I got into exercising and now have some decent muscles on my legs and I can no longer wear them :( Gutting.

There are shoes with different calf fittings on websites like viva la diva and fashion world and all that.

I have skinny calves and it is nigh on impossible to get boots to fit without making my legs look like sticks in buckets!

TBF, I have one of those lines that go inbetween my leg and muscle so why would I want to deny the world the sight of that? I like shandy's thinking. Even though she has skinny calves.

I have cunky calves and have never had a problem finding knee high boots to fit - but then I do have huge great feet too. I am currently wearing a pair of knee high Timberlands which I bought last winter. They are fab and very comfy - perhaps have a look at their website? Hunter wellies can be quite snug on the calf, but they are shite now anyway. I have a pair of Barbour wellies now that are looser on the calf and have lasted through two winters and now going into their third (and I wear them lots).

My shoe gripe is stupid Dune shoes only going up to a tiny 41 that I can't get my feet into. I have lots of pairs of 41 size shoes, but Dune sizing is obviously for stupid fairy-feet.

I have slender calves and also find it bloody hard to get boots that fit and don't flap around or fall down.

Duo boots are your friend.

Like wilsonfrickett I have stupidly small size 3 feet but massive calves and can't get boots done up sat my ankle. As far as I'm aware smaller feet don't equal smaller calf size so why are boots smaller there too?

Are duo those made to measure ones? I might try them for my birthday present.

You can't win. And most knee high boots are much too wide and flappy on them. So yabu I'm afraid. It's really hard to get any that fit a 33cm calf and look reasonable.

Mind you I'm 7m preg and my calves are currently 35 and 36, according to measurements at the helpful DVT clinic. It saves me bothering, which is great as I can't reach them any more

Maybe this is the problem - my feet are an 8 so perhaps that's why the leg bit is always so blooming wide.

I love high boots and wear them for as long into the spring/summer as is possible (therefore usually August!) but yes, they remind me of one of my biggest body hang ups:

not that I have massively big calves but that I have one calf fatter than the other :( (comes from being an ex dancer I think and doing everything off the right leg when I could)

Luckily I'm very short and thin with small feet so the boots still fit me but I hate noticing that one does up more easily than the other.

YY Eds I think it's a proportion thing. My luffly calves are out of proportion to my tiny trotters. I worked hard for those calves

I have the biggest calves in the world (it's true, Norris McWhirter wrote it down on his clipboard) and I've only ever owned one pair of freak knee high boots from Evans about 10 years ago but no more since.

Yes I could get Duo boots but have you seen how wide they would have to be? Boots to fit me would be like triangles. Far rather a stick in a bucket than that.

I've always had footballer's legs, even when I was slim. I'm an oddity :(

Oh and my boobs. Don't get me started. The children always preferred 'This one milky' (Right boob) to 'that one milky' (left boob)
