It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

I am struggling with dog poo being the same as a crisp packet or a drinks carton I'm afraid.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 15:24

cumfy it is a ridiculous comparison.

Someone would have to commit an actual crime to get my car.

And a bag of poo does not stop the op from using her bin.

Fakebook · 02/11/2012 15:25

No, technically, it would be a BAG of dog shit on the pavement.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 15:25

I understand the righteous indignation because you might burst it when you put your own rubbish in then have to clean it out.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 15:26

And it's a bag of dog shit in a rubbish bin.

But you would prefer it on the pavement?

I actually give up now.

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/11/2012 15:27

Seriously, changing the damn thing was bad enough without having to get up close and personal with the contents after the event. Sometimes I don't even use a bag before it goes in the bin

Ohsiena · 02/11/2012 15:27

I wouldn't mind if passing strangers occasionally placed small items of rubbish in my bin if I'd left it out.

It wouldn't seem worth worrying about, unless they were dumping huge silly amounts and filling it causing problems for me. I'd be pleased people were responsible and not littering but using a bin.

I'd even feel like this if it was bagged dog poo. It's in a bag and it won't inconvenience me at all. I'd be glad it had been picked up and disposed of in a bin.

D0oinMeCleanin · 02/11/2012 15:28

But Whispers didn't you worry about your rubbish getting dirty? Shock

I can't imagine exposing my waste to waste. How unsanitary.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 15:29

The bag might burst when you put something on top and then you'd have to clean it out. Is this very difficult to understand. I wouldn't put dog poo in someone's bin. It's my dog, my poo.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 15:29

Whispers do you not wipe yours or your baby's bum-it's pretty much the same thing.Grin It prevents you filling the bin with poo when you have a 2 weekly collection.

VoterColonelSebastianDoyle · 02/11/2012 15:30

Would you rather it be on the pavement near your house?

Brycie · 02/11/2012 15:33

Dog poo is disgusting. It's not the same as human poo, it might be full of worms, it's just vile. That's why we don't leave it around the place and clean it up instead. So you don't want to risk smearing the inside of someone's bin with it, as it might get on the outside of a bag, maybe then on someone's clothes or hands.

Or is that just funny.

squoosh · 02/11/2012 15:33

Some people just aren't content unless they're working themselves up into a blue fury over some trivial matter, any trivial matter.

It must be so much fun being permanently enraged.

5madthings · 02/11/2012 15:35

meh providing it was in a bag i wouldnt care, its rubbish in a rubbish bin.

dd's pooey nappies go in a bag in the bin and no i dont scrape the poo out, if i change her upstairs and its a good solid lump that will tip easily in the toilet then i will do so but most of the time its not that solid nad has been squashed into the nappy where she has sat down after pooing, why would i try and scrape that up?! i fold the nappy up, use the tabs to seal it closed and put it in a carrier bag/nappy sack and tie it up and put it in the bin.

if someone is walking past my house and my bin is out the front i would far rather they put their litter in it than drop it on the floor. its out the front on one day for a few hours waiting for collection and then i bring it in again, its not going to be used by so many people that it gets too full for me to use it!

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 15:36

I much prefer to be permanently unraged

That's why I dont mind people putting things in my bin.

And I bring my bin in at night.

WhispersOfWickedness · 02/11/2012 15:37

Yes, I do and hate every second, that's why I don't clean/scrape a second longer than necessary Grin
I'm not sure what I feed my kids, but they frequently do poos which can't be simply emptied neatly down the toilet, the poo is pretty much part of the fabric of the inside of the nappy, particularly once it's been sat on Grin I just have no concept of how it would be possible to scrape it off Confused
We have two weekly collections too. I don't spend a great deal of time standing next to the bin, breathing deeply, so the smell thing is a non-issue really. Besides, it's cold enough for it not to smell now. I have never ever washed out the wheelie bin.

D0oinMeCleanin · 02/11/2012 15:38

People can have worms too Brycie. In fact the people in my house are more likely to have worms because they aren't routinely medicated against them like my dogs are.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 15:38

I thought everyone scraped the poo off a nappy into the loo. Blush It must have changed since 1999 although I was still doing it in 2002. I may have a DC3 now the rules have changed. Grin

WhispersOfWickedness
I have never ever washed out the wheelie bin.

I haven't either... does that make us feckless slatterns (or whatever the chap equivalent is? Possibly sloven?)

Brycie · 02/11/2012 15:41

Nappies go inside a bin bag. A bag of dog poo is outside a bin bag and could burst, smearing the contents over the inside of the bin and the outside of a bin bag, thus to be transferred to the bin man, the owner, the owner's child, and so on.

I guess maybe some people don't mind the possibility of being smeared with dog poo. It's the only conclusion one can reach.

I didn't scrape it off. I used disposable nappy liners. So easy and so much better than having 20 or so neatly wrapped little turds in your bin.

You put dog poo in your outside bin on the outside of a bin bag?
