It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

I can't believe how many people think its okay to throw dog shit in other people's bins.

In op's case the dog shit bag was at the bottom of the bin. If someone had thrown a bin bag on top it could have exploded by force. Then who would've cleaned the bin from inside? It's not fair to do this.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 08:20

Exactly Fakebook. I don't get why anyone would think it was ok. Confused

FedUpOfRain · 02/11/2012 08:20

sparkling sure, taking it home would be the ideal, but for whatever reason that didn't happen and it is much better than the alternative, surely? I can't understand why people are getting so angry about it (for all the reasons already explained) or why someone called the dog walker a bitch Hmm
is this what the world's coming too? Really????

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 08:22

I'm not angry. Just disappointed at the way everyone treats each other. the dog walker was just unthinking and probably got fed up of carrying it.

People are angry because it's dog poo and dog poo is vile.......

Tee2072 · 02/11/2012 08:23

I'd also like the point out, to be pedantic and a bit mean, TBH, that the OP left the bin out all night long because she "..couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again."

So not only precious about her bin, but lazy and slattern.

If her bin hadn't been left out, this never would have happened. I would never leave my bin out all night. This has been ingrained in me from living in in the US where you can be fined if your bin is out too early or is left too late.

And I know that half the time my bin men leave my bin practically on the street. Definitely not on my property.

Enfyshedd · 02/11/2012 08:25

A woman in my street has written on her wheelie bin which she leaves out on the street "This bin is not for your rubbish". I'm tempted to put a sign in her pot plant that she leaves outside her side gate saying "This pavement is not for your plants".

Back to topic, I'm of the school of thought better it's out of harms way. One of the worst things I've seen is full dog poo bags chucked into hedges - if you've gone to the bother of picking it up, then why not find a bin?!

Enfyshedd · 02/11/2012 08:32

Also, my local council threatens fines if bins are left out before the evening prior to collection or the day after collection. You're pretty much supposed to keep to the 24 hours around the collection day. Don't know why that woman thinks she's so special...

financialwizard · 02/11/2012 08:34

I have to be honest, and I say this as someone who does not have dogs, I would prefer that someone put a bag of dog poo in my bin than left the dog poo on the pavement/in the park near my house where my children could step into it.

We recently lived in a very hot country for a couple of years and my next door neighbour had dogs. She would not pick up after them in her back garden for days and the flies and stench was awful. That is much worse believe me.

pictish · 02/11/2012 08:34

"Is this what the world's coming to?"

Let's hope it is, because if using a bin is the extent of your outrage, then your world must be a pretty cosy place to be. Wink

MrsWhoGivesaShit · 02/11/2012 09:34

some of you lot are actually mental! i am going to start putting little bags of my dogs poop in your bins to out the crazy mumsnetters near me!

it is a bin, they stink already. Bins are for rubbish. unless you have people walking loins near you i can not see how a tiny bag of poo will affect how full your bin gets!

i hope she keeps doing it until you EXPLODE!!

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 09:36

Thanks for that Mrs. Did you NC specially? I have never seen anyone walking loins.

lljkk · 02/11/2012 09:38

I'd rather they put it in my bin then throw the bag into hedge to hang like a rank tree ornament forever more. So YABU.

pictish · 02/11/2012 09:39

Ohh I get it! I was wondering what walking loins entailed! Grin
Ha ha!

This thread reminds me of a Gary Larson cartoon.

here

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 09:40

Dog owners would never do that would they lljkk? Throw it in a hedge? Hang it from a tree? Nooo. Shocking. Sad

D0oinMeCleanin · 02/11/2012 09:44

It won't smell if it's bagged up. I put my dog's poo in my own bin and it doesn't smell and I have a lot of dogs who do a lot of poos.

Hexenbiest · 02/11/2012 09:47

I wouldn't be pleased as it?s a 2 week collection here - and the bin is either near our door in in our garageso don't want wprse smell and things can and do get stuck in the bottom of the bin and I don't want to have to sort out getting stuff like this out.

However it is better than the ones who let their dogs shit over our drive and garden and along all the pavements I have to walk to nearby school along with three young DC.

It?s also better than what I saw yesterday on a country walk that went past a few houses where someone had been throwing black poo bags onto the roof of one of the nearby conservatory.

I have no idea what goes through these peoples head's especially as poo bins are everywhere.

BumpInTheNightFuglies · 02/11/2012 10:19

Surely it's the householder's choice what goes in their bin? Why should OP have to have shit in her bin? It's not mental, it's common sense and good manners to put YOUR rubbish in YOUR bin - not any old bin you pass, unless it's a public one.

Beksybob · 02/11/2012 10:49

This happens to us, only we have to put the rubbish in our wheelie bin in black bags - so we had to reach in to the bottom of the manky bin to pull out the poo & put it in a black bag! Ew.

MrsWhoGivesaShit · 02/11/2012 10:50

sorry, what is your problem sparkling?

MrsWhoGivesaShit · 02/11/2012 10:52

ermmm... think i may have ment to have said lions pictish ! Blush Smile

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 10:54

No problem and no need to apologise Mrs. Confused I just wondered about your NN as it suited the thread.

Mintyy · 02/11/2012 10:59

Yet another of those bonkers aibu threads where I think I must be living in a parallel universe. Dog poo belongs in dog poo bins or in the dog owner's bin, not some random bin you happen to walk past. Honestly, I think some people on here just get off on being contrary.

Op: yanbu, obviously, it is a disgusting thing to do.

MrsWhoGivesaShit · 02/11/2012 11:01

no I didn?t, just a happy coincidence. Perhaps I should change it to WhyArePeopleSoPReciousAboutTheirBins! - now that would have been more suited!

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 11:03

But with a NN like that Mrs how do you get taken seriously on here? There must be things you do give a shit about? If someone had asked for very serious help with something could you post with that NN?

HSMM · 02/11/2012 11:10

'It won't smell if its bagged up' - well carry it home and put it in your own stinking bin then!
