It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

YANBU

And round here it would not get taken because only large black sacks get taken.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:20

brycie love, at the risk of sinking down to a 5 year old level, you started the name calling and "mean ness"

But anyways, it's irelevant.

"I think it means that some people view their bins as places for rubbish. Actual rubbish.

And some people view their bin as an extension of themselves and are very offended that anyone would dare even look at it."

I view my bin for rubbish, but I would think it rude if somebody else used it for their rubbish, be it dog poo or anything else! Its not what the rubbish is that is the problem, its the bad manners.

Hope: the ones in public dog poo bins don't have heavy sacks put on top of them.

Tantrums: no, there was much mocking and hysteria over the idea someone would object, real belittling of the OP.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:21

It's a bin.

And as d0oin pointed out, it ain't your bin. It's the councils bin.

Anonymumous · 02/11/2012 16:23

Oh for goodness' sake - IT'S NOT A PUBLIC BIN, SO YOU HAVE NO "RIGHT" TO PUT YOUR RUBBISH IN IT!!! It belongs to someone else! (And I had to pay for my bin, so it IS mine, it's not the council's and I DID take it with me when I moved, OK?!)

I cannot imagine why so many people think it's OK to dump their crap in or on other people's property, and then seem to think that anyone who objects is hysterical or insane. YOU are the ones in the wrong, so stop trying to justify your bad behaviour and go and learn some manners!!! Angry Angry Angry

OK, so I AM hysterical now. But that is because I hadn't realised what a bunch of scumbags inhabit this site. I shall have to go and find another website where the inhabitants are more refined and have been brought up properly. Huh!

Brycie · 02/11/2012 16:23

You might get dog poo smeared on the inside of it and someone gets it all over them. Council worker, whoever. When they empty the dog poo bins they are ready for it. A bloke emptying your bin doesn't want dog poo on his work clothes. Or are they just the lower classes that we don't bother with.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:24

brycie so you decided to belittle anyone who doesn't agree with you? As revenge?

Anyway. I actually am amazed I have spent so long debating this.

Put your rubbish wherever the fuck you want.
Put it in my bin if you want.
I doubt I'd even notice.

Sparklingbrook · 02/11/2012 16:24

I'm leaving this thread too, it's even more pointless than the two 4x4 threads we have had this week, hope you get it sorted.

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 16:24

Brycie you are being pretty scathing to squoosh. Implying she's stupid etc. So not sure why you think you can tell other people off for being mean.

squoosh · 02/11/2012 16:24

Gosh, three red faces! That's told us.

LtEveDallas · 02/11/2012 16:24

WHY is it bad manners?? Come on people, I've asked and asked. What is unmannerly about putting rubbish in a rubbish bin?

Someone earlier said because it didn't belong to the OPs dog - is that it? Is it disgusting when you don't have a personal relationship with the producer of said poo, but not disgusting when you do? Is poo not just poo?

I don't have this issue because my dogs are walked on the beach and in the woods - so no precious wheely bin owners there, but I often bag up poo that I know doesnt 'belong' to my dogs - and even foxes, so I'm rather meh about the 'disgustingness' of poo - its a perfectly natural substance after all.

Poo bags are strong - they have to be, so unlikely to 'burst, smearing all the contents all over the bin, the binmen, the bin owner or bin owners children' (do your children really play in the bin? )

This is beyond ridiculous.

(oh and again, what do people do with Sanitary Waste if they don't put it in their bin?)

squoosh · 02/11/2012 16:24

Grin Grin Grin

Anonymumous · 02/11/2012 16:24

I should think so too!

BastardSpiders · 02/11/2012 16:25

"And as d0oin pointed out, it ain't your bin. It's the councils bin."

Yes, but you should realise that the council don't issue them for general use by anybody. They are issued specifically to each household and are intended solely for the use of the occupants of the house to which the bin was issued.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why people cannot carry waste to their own bins or a suitable public bin. :)

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:26

Scumbags?

And you are the well bought up one?

When you think it's appropriate to call people who disagree with you scumbags?

Yeah, nice.

I know who I would rather spend time with.
And believe me, you would be exactly the type of person I would avoid in RL.

SparkyTGD · 02/11/2012 16:30

I agree with OP, I have a dog & put waste in our bin or public bins. I definitely wouldn't put it in a neighbours bin.

But, I wouldn't be mad if others did so in our bin, its a bin [shrugs]

Anonymumous, in most areas (where others who are more relaxed about it maybe live) the wheelie bins are usually provided by the council, so not bought and owned by the homeowner. So 'my' bin isn't actually 'mine' IYSWIM, its the councils.

BastardSpiders · 02/11/2012 16:32

"Ok it's your bin. But other than the fact that it's your bin how in gods name does someone putting a small bag of dog poo in it have any affect on you and your life?

How?"

It wouldn't have any effect on me at all, other than to think 'how rude!' :)

However, other people like to keep their bins all nice and clean Grin and that is perfectly ok, because the bin is for their use and they can choose to keep it clean and fragrant is that is what floats their boat.

PickledFanjoCat · 02/11/2012 16:32

We should all stop putting rubbish in the bins those poor bin men!

Well, it's a bit cheeky i think but I wouldn't get worked up about it as long as it was securely wrapped.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 16:33

To show you what it's like Tantrums: and it's plain you don't like it at all. So perhaps you'll think twice before doing it to someone else.

Squoosh suggested I would ask my guests to take their poo home with them in a bag. Not a very intelligent idea.
