It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

esme I tend not to rummage through my bin.
Because its full of rubbish.

But if you choose to go through your bin, I suppose you had better expect to get dirty Grin

D0oinMeCleanin · 02/11/2012 16:00

Because it has dirty rubbish in it, of course Tantrums, why else? People don't want dirty rubbish. That's just rubbish.

Poor old dirty, dirt.

Mintyy · 02/11/2012 16:01

This thread is full of the professionally unoffended to borrow an excellent phrase from another thread I'm on. Fair enough, to be I spose, but not nice to describe people who are not quite so laid back about dog shit as "hysterical". Not nice and just a leetel bit desperate, I would say.

Mintyy · 02/11/2012 16:02

But none of those things are dog shit HopeForTheBest Confused. It is the point that it is actual shit that I have a problem with.

BastardSpiders · 02/11/2012 16:02

fromEsme Thats my point. You (and others) don't care, which is simply bad manners. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot carry the bag, unless you can explain to me why this might be a problem?

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 16:02

Mintyy yes I'm desperate. Desperate to...er...um. Not care about shit being in a bin?

I am normally the one being dubbed professionally offended.

People have different opinions about different things shocker.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:02

Oh but my bin only has clean rubbish in it.

People should remember to wash their rubbish before putting it in a bin.

You can't have dirty rubbish.

MrsHoarder · 02/11/2012 16:03

"Are guests allowed to shit in your toilets or do they need to bring it home with them?"

Guests can, but I'd be put out if someone walking past decided to walk in, have a poo and walk out again.

And I'm not hysterical, just rather puzzled by the people who are proud to lack good manners. No putting poo in a bin isn't as bad as taking my car for a drive, but that doesn't mean its something I'd like people to do. And as for being happy for passers by to put rubbish in your bin: I live in an area with small wheelie bins, only what fits in the bin will be thrown away. This means I'm more protective of my bin than I would be if I didn't sometimes have to hold a bag of rubbish back a fortnight due to lack of bin space.

squoosh · 02/11/2012 16:03

A hobby Tantrums? They have a hobby. It involves sitting behind the net curtains with a Thermos full of tea and a slice of buttered Soreen watching the neighbours do offensive things such as

-putting rubbish in rubbish bins
-smiling too much
-weeding their garden in the wrong direction

It's a full time job being permanently offended!

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 16:03

BastardSpiders I said upthread that I would be unlikely to put shit in a bin because my dog is trained to only poop in the garden.

If someone else put shit in my bin, I just couldn't bring myself to care.

Oh yes definitley smiling too much is a no no.

I'm very glad that I don't actually care what people dash in my bin.

And if I were too damn lazy to bring my bin in cos I didn't want to wash my hands, and left it out all night I would not be surprised that someone chucked rubbish in it.

Anonymumous · 02/11/2012 16:06

Everlong, it doesn't actually matter whether you think the bin-owner is "mental" or not. The point is, there are clearly quite a lot of people out there who would NOT want your stinking dog turds in their bins for whatever reason. Now that you aware of that fact, will you refrain from dumping your dog's doings in other people's bins in future? Or are you too selfish to acknowledge that your opinion on the matter does not over-ride everyone else's? If carrying those little bags of poo home is really too much for you, maybe you should reconsider owning a dog?

Just out of interest, would you consider knocking on someone's door and asking if you could put a dog turd in their bin? Even that would be more polite than just assuming it's OK. Although obviously you would be risking a torrent of abuse and a possible black eye, depending on where you walk your dog! Grin

TeddyBare · 02/11/2012 16:06

YABU. It's a bin. They're never clean. If you're concerned about it smelling then I would recommend not bringing the bin in to the house. If your wheelie bin is so full after 1 week that there isn't space for something because of a dog poo bag then you need to seriously reconsider what you're buying that has so much un-recyclable packaging.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 16:06

hope I will join you in a very large drink.

Does no-one else do the midnight black bag run up and down their street looking for other bins with space?

Most of our street do it.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 16:08

Tantrums: because you might put a bag of rubbish on top of the bag of dog poo, which then bursts.

theoriginalandbestrookie · 02/11/2012 16:08

Ok to the point of other rubbish.

I do think it is bad manners to put your rubbish in other random peoples bins, so if I had a sweetie wrapper or such like I would keep it until I went home. If however I picked up an empty crisp bag when out on a walk in that case I probably would put it in someones bin on the basis that a) I don't really want to carry it and b) the people would probably prefer that I picked up rubbish in their area rather than leaving it.

BastardSpiders · 02/11/2012 16:08

"...just rather puzzled by the people who are proud to lack good manners."

Me too! When did it become a bad thing to always try and be as considerate as possible?

Even if you think a bin is a bin and it is designed to be dirty etc etc etc, it is not a bin that was issued for your use and you need to understand that the ocupants of the house might not want your dog's waste in their bin. Whether disliking waste in their bin is sensible or not is irrelevant. The bin is for their use only and other people should employ their manners and not use it.

Someone needs to apply some Jungian/Freudian shizzle to this bin devotion.

What can it all mean?

theoriginalandbestrookie · 02/11/2012 16:10

And no hope - I'd really rather not have a nappy deposited by a random stranger in my bin either.
Quite happy when friends come to visit for them to dispose of their nappies in my bin as that is by prior consent.
