Yes, it's October. You know. The month before November.

It isn't even Hallowe'en yet.

It is still autumn.

Keep your fecking Christmas threads in the Christmas topic.

You are a crowd of wankers. You just don't care

It's all wrong, I tell ya, wrong.

Aw Cheers MaryZ will pop by and get some later, those and pumpkin pie for tea tonight. Epic.

In return I will shut up about Christmas, just for you.

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz · 31/10/2012 09:47

God yes, Mary, that is what Christmas Eve was invented for, wasn't it? Drunken wrapping. It's one of the best bits for me.

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 09:48

I'm vaguely pleased by the number of people who agree with me [chuffed]

MrsMuddyPuddles · 31/10/2012 10:48

Honeydragon, have you not seen the ScreamEggs?! They are divine, and taste suspiciously like CreameEggs Hmm Wink

valiumredhead · 31/10/2012 10:49

That's 8 weeks to go - not long really if you like to be organised.

MrsMuddyPuddles · 31/10/2012 10:52

ahem, OP YANBU! This is why the Christmas topic exists, so those of us keen can fuck off there [hgrin]

Madelinethepumpkin · 31/10/2012 10:53

Well I'm sick of all the anti Christmas guff I keep hearing. DH groans every time he sees anything Christmassy no idea why it stresses him out when all it means to him is an even better dinner than usual and some free time off work it may only be October but what else is there to look forward to!? Sad

MotherOfSuburbia · 31/10/2012 10:57

Trills - the pub wasn't in Chapel-en-le-frith was it?

sashh · 31/10/2012 10:57

Oh Mary poor you.

Come here and visit me.

I do not own any Xmas decorations. I do have fairy lights but they are tred and hung round the red curtains in my bedroom.

I I send exactly zero cards and generally ignore the entire thing.

You are welcome, I'll kick you out on Xmas eve, don't worry you can get drunk and wrap presents then.

Sallyingforth · 31/10/2012 10:57

Our local church has put up a list of special Christmas services.

They try to drag religion into everything these days!

aldiwhore · 31/10/2012 11:06

I love Christmas in December too. I don't mind a bit of planning though.

YANBU MaryZcary but if the c word is mentioned in a thread title, don't open until Christmas.

BigBoobiedBertha · 31/10/2012 11:06

YABU

It is less than 2 months until Christmas and it needs planning, especially if you are on a tight budget and/or you are going to busy in December like us. I totally agree with MadelinethePumpkin actually - I suddenly have to deal with whinging from not just DH but DS1 too. DS1 wouldn't be too pleased if he got no presents because I waited until December and there wasn't enough money in one month's salary and the shops have sold out of everything half decent that he wants.

Tbh I think this thread should be in Christmas board if you can't stand to see the word or have a discussion about Christmas on other boards. I call 'hypocrite' actually - Christmas topic haters are as bad as Christmas topic lovers for getting over excited. Wink

Anniegetyourgun · 31/10/2012 11:07

Saving up for Christmas is necessary, for most of us. Planning for Christmas is sensible. But you don't need to start celebrating it just yet, eh? It's only special if you have to wait for it. Like deciding to have a birthday every month, or if the Olympics were every year, or if every football fixture was called the FA Cup Final. Or, in recognition of the joys of a good crescendo, playing the entire symphony at MAXIMUM VOLUME.

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 11:08

Thanks for the invite sash Smile.

Madeline, I'm not anti-Christmas at all. Just anti Christmas-in-October.

That's disgraceful Sallying. What is it with Churches jumping on every bandwagon going these days Shock It shouldn't be allowed. Has no-one told them the true meaning of Christmas?

OP posts:
aldiwhore · 31/10/2012 11:09

Actually MaryZcary YABU. Seeing as you didn't put the c word in the title, thus giving me a chance to avoid it. [hwink]

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 11:10

Exactly Annie. Well put.

OP posts:
MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 11:10

Sorry aldi.

But it isn't a thread about the c-word, it's a thread about October.

OP posts:
aldiwhore · 31/10/2012 11:13

Yes but you tricked me into getting cross and agreeing with you. I LOVE Christmas (sooo much) in December. I'm now cross for the same reasons as you. I dont want to be cross today.

Madelinethepumpkin · 31/10/2012 11:22

Oh yes bigboobied DH is quite happy to enjoy the kind if Christmas that takes 8 weeks to plan... But doesn't want to hear about it until 2 weeks before the day Hmm

I have to say though, Christmas sings in shops should be reserved for end November I think.

DrCoconut · 31/10/2012 12:14

I don't like Christmas to begin too early. Surely you have bonfire night and then advent first? The best time to put the tree up has to be once the school holidays start. And leave it up till 6th Jan! Why do people take their decorations down early now?

BigBoobiedBertha · 31/10/2012 12:27

I'm quite happy to agree that the actual celebrations don't start until December but I can't be doing with people who moan about the planning and the buying or shops starting to get their Christmas things out and then expect that everything is all lovely when Christmas gets here. I am particularly intolerant of people who moan about the crowds in the shops at Christmas because everywhere is full of people who also think that Christmas shouldn't start until December. Hmm

That is unreasonable.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 31/10/2012 12:33

Totally agree with anniegetyourgun who has put the point succinctly. Yes I too have to save these couple of months beforehand, but I'm not going to bother yakking about that, everyone else I know is the same and its boring listening to peoples plans.

But i feel the special, fun bits should be in December only - carols in shops, decs and lights, trees up, having mince pies and chocolates for breakfast wrapping presents and writing cards, all in December for me!!!

MoonlightandWerewolves · 31/10/2012 12:48

I agree with Maryz! [hgrin]

HoneyDragon · 31/10/2012 14:19

Cadburys scream Eggs do not taste the same as creme eggs. They are runnier and not as nice.

Shutupanddrive · 31/10/2012 14:31

YABU
You like to keep in until December, not everyone else does. So you haven't thought about what you are getting anyone for Xmas yet? You will really leave it all until a couple of weeks before?
