Aitch, that is a good point. I have spent twenty years honing my passive aggression so that the person I want to insult only realises they were in fact insulted 24 hours later. Just wouldn't have the cojones to be any less subtle than that.

andrew 'o hagan, scottish writer and father of IK's dd. reportedly a nice fellow, although desperately unsexy in that student priest-y way. uses slightly too many words in his otherwise excellent books and articles it's a good piece, that, although on the savile thing so brace yourselves if there are any triggers for anyone.

re O'Hagan readability, he is very scotland and of his time. all oil-rainbowed puddles and tinseltown in the rain, however i think his instincts are great, journalistically-speaking.
