Aibu to think that if you have a baby sitter

Who specifically tells you that they can only do til half ten latest, and said baby sitter has a 14 week old baby at home with her partner, who is also looking after their 12 year old and his mate sleeping over, then you should bloody well rock up home at half past bloody ten and not still be out with no sign of return or phone call at five to bastard eleven?

And breathe.

I think I do "need" to get home.

Honestly that is so rude Sad

Absolutely you should say something when they return and either get them to pay for a taxi or get walked home, shockingly mean friends you have!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 19/10/2012 23:27

If I had a 14 week old at home I would certainly feel I needed to get home.

TheMightyMojoceratops · 19/10/2012 23:27

Ring the friend - what's the worst that can happen?

Sirzy · 19/10/2012 23:27

That's not on. They should have been back for 1015 to make sure you could go by 1030.

I hope you say no next time they ask!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 19/10/2012 23:28

Are they back yet?

LaVitaBellissima · 19/10/2012 23:28

Is your baby sleeping through? It's not like you get to go home and have a decent nights sleep is it?

wonderstuff · 19/10/2012 23:28

I would call the friend - its not middle of the night late yet and you do need to get home. They are taking the piss big time.

Rowanhart · 19/10/2012 23:29

I don't get why neither of them would have mobiles with them?

Because if you are waiting for them to text they must have? Have you rang/text them?

2blessed2bstressed · 19/10/2012 23:29

I know your iPad is about to die.....but are they back yet? Selfish gits!

FannyFifer · 19/10/2012 23:29

Nightmare. Get the number and phone them.

NotQuintAtAllOhNo · 19/10/2012 23:30

Dont EVER babysit for them again. Selfish gits.

pookamoo · 19/10/2012 23:30

I hope you have called now!

Flojo1979 · 19/10/2012 23:30

If I had a 14 week old baby I wouldn't have gone in the first place. But I assume your DH is more than capable of doing all the things u would do if u were there so no big deal really.
Just really rude but I assume they babysit for u also so I guess it depends how much u need a babysitter as to how u handle it.

NotQuintAtAllOhNo · 19/10/2012 23:30

Just ring them and tell them that you are leaving in 5 minutes, just so they know their kids will be on their own. You 14 week old is manic for a feed, so you are off.

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:31

Phoned friend phoned them. Apparently they're just on way out of door.

OP posts:
JaneFonda · 19/10/2012 23:31

Just thought I'd add - you are incredibly kind for babysitting as a favour when you have a 14 week old yourself!

I don't think I would dream of asking a friend with a 3 month old baby to look after my own children until late at night, never mind behaving like they are.

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:32

They do not and never have baby sat for me.

OP posts:
Sirzy · 19/10/2012 23:32

Is that like the taxi which is always "at the end of your road"

How long should it take them to get back?

wonderstuff · 19/10/2012 23:33

Make sure you get walked home

Zombieminx · 19/10/2012 23:33

That's so inconsiderate Angry

When they know you have a 14 wk old at home too, and you were clear with them about the time you needed to leave. Definitely do not say "it's fine" when they mutter their crap excuses when they get home.

YY call the mutual friend and explain why.

Never offer to babysit for them again and if they ever even hint about it then tell them why not.

Safe home.

TerrorNotSoFrightened · 19/10/2012 23:33

Selfish bastards.
Don't take any half assed apologies from them.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 19/10/2012 23:33

I think you should charge them for a taxi home or get them to drop you home. It's not fair that you should have to walk through a lonely lane this late.

WelshMaenad · 19/10/2012 23:33

Fucking hell, hour late and they've not left yet?

Kill them. Then tell us about it.

Flojo1979 · 19/10/2012 23:34

Well whatever favour it is.
Personally, I'd have enjoyed the break from baby, and put my feet up and snoozed!
