Who specifically tells you that they can only do til half ten latest, and said baby sitter has a 14 week old baby at home with her partner, who is also looking after their 12 year old and his mate sleeping over, then you should bloody well rock up home at half past bloody ten and not still be out with no sign of return or phone call at five to bastard eleven?

And breathe.

They are your friends. This is important. Friends take the piss where all other babysitters would be sacked. Keep them as friends and never offer to babysit again.

Do it with a smile. You know now, after two time of not being listened to, don't fight, you're friends, just don't do it again!

LynetteScavo · 19/10/2012 23:16

Um....these people wouldn't be my friends any more.

Angry for you.

WelshMaenad · 19/10/2012 23:16

What twats! Poor you OP. never ever again.

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:17

At the moment I feel like I could actually properly fall out with them over this. I said to her yesterday about getting back and she actually said to me, "X (her husband) has work in the morning, so even if I feel like staying later, he will definitely be back. But we'll more than likely both be back". I don't care which of the fuckers comes back, but neither of them is not on!!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 19/10/2012 23:17

Thats so not on! Definately get the number and phone them now.

I was once babysitting for my aunt at her house with DD who was 2. I was dying with the flu. She told me 11.30. Appeared at 2am. Never again.

pookamoo · 19/10/2012 23:17

And I would also say to the dad "sorry you're going to have to go out in the wet again to walk me home..."

It does count as an emergency.
Hope they are home and your iPad hasn't run out!

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:18

I'm giving it ten more minutes, then I'm phoning mutual friend and I'm telling her exactly why, too.

OP posts:
Freshbloodletticia · 19/10/2012 23:19

I cannot believe that they havennot left you an address or a contact number. Jesus, even in the seventies when babysitting was extremely loosely-defined, we had some means of contact.

pookamoo · 19/10/2012 23:19

I think they need to do some apologising! In 10 minutes time they will be an hour late. If you wake your mutual friend, she can be pissed off at them too! Grin

TinyDiamond · 19/10/2012 23:20

I'm angry for you!

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:20

I know exactly where they are,but obviously can't leave their kids to go and fetch them.

EnjoyVampirebloodResponsibly · 19/10/2012 23:20

40 minutes.

Shit the bed, I'd do my NUT.

5madthings · 19/10/2012 23:21

yanbu, totally NOT ok, god i always stick to time agreed and call/txt to say i am on my way home and would most certainly get in touch if i was going to be late!

do NOT do them a favour ever again!

WorraLiberty · 19/10/2012 23:21

No way would I look after anyone's baby if they didn't take their mobile phone out with them.

That's just stupid.

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:21

6 per cent!

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 19/10/2012 23:21

I mean they are stupid...not you OP!

EnjoyVampirebloodResponsibly · 19/10/2012 23:21

Woah, I can't add 50 minutes!!!

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:22

The kids aren't babies, quite big, but I didn't realise they hadn't left the people's number til they were late and I was looking for it.

OP posts:
MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavour · 19/10/2012 23:23

When they finally decide to come home Hmm tell them how pissed off you are, don't smile and say its ok whilst inwardly seething, they are really taking the piss and shouldn't get away with it!

EnjoyVampirebloodResponsibly · 19/10/2012 23:23

I'd be sitting on the stairs, coat on and be out of there the very instance I heard them.

But not before they had heard some very, very rude words.

WorraLiberty · 19/10/2012 23:24

It doesn't matter how old the kids are

If they're young enough to need a babysitter, the parents should have taken a mobile and left you their number.

Flojo1979 · 19/10/2012 23:25

They are taking the piss but I think peoples reactions on here are somewhat ott.
Don't wake their kids, that's just cruel and I'm sure taking them to your house would make things worse for u not better.
You don't 'need' to get home, u just want to.
I understand why, but u can't really justify disturbing someone else just cos they are home late, seems petty.
Just don't babysit again!

Cathycomehome · 19/10/2012 23:25

I'm starting to feel quite antsy with pissed off ness. I'm pacing their front room!

OP posts:
Haemadoots · 19/10/2012 23:25

Hope they are home soon :(

ChristmasKate · 19/10/2012 23:25

Really taking the piss for being an hour late with no text or anything.

No more free babysitting for them!
