She said "i'm going toilet"and then ran off. I called her back and said "you mean "I am going to the bathroom" ". And got her to repeat it bak before she could go.

Of course, bathroom, toilet, loo, whatever word you choose, but the poor expression of it shocked me!

You have been drinking wine, you allowed to just say 'bed' ! Common peak is fine when drunk. But as dd is 6 that won't be allowed as an excuse.

Where I used to live, east coast, many of the kids would say 'I'm going for a toilet'.

Pavlovthecat · 19/10/2012 22:07

Any of my own grammatical errors are purely the fault of Apple.

dorothy I think that is quite cute actually. But that is because ds says this and is only just learning to speak correctly, so he says that. I won't be so harsh with him yet, he is not quite 3.

I half expected the kids to come back with the toilet on their shoulders.

Well, the 'my lover' etc (alongside a 'She's broken inum' type comment referring to a window) would suggest south Bristol to me.

Pavlovthecat · 19/10/2012 22:30

I love inum! I have to stop myself saying it Grin

"Mum, I just pissed the carpet"

"No darling, you've just pissed on the carpet"

"Wait! Oh fuuuuuck"

Am I right then???

I'd still correct the 'to the' bit. To be honest I don't hear much of 'I'm going toilet' stuff, so am possibly not right as to the location, but then I'm up 'north'.
