AIBU? Does anyone elses DH do this?!

My lovely, charming DH seems to spend a large proportion of his time with a hand down the front his trousers (his hand, not like a plastic mannequin one or anything. That would add a whole new dimension to the problem).

When I point this out, his defence is that he has an itch or is "rearranging" but unless he has crotch fleas (he doesn't) surely he can't itch that much and he is averagely size (or if he is reading - bloody massive, so huge!) so rearranging seems...unusual.

It's starting to get right on my wick that he's always at his "wick" (see what i did there?). It's mostly in private but he does it without thinking sometimes in public and when we're with people and I'm sure other people see.
He gets cross and says "If i can't do what I want in the privacy of my own home...blah blah"
but AIBU to find it disgusting?!

[Have added this to chat too, to get a full scope of peoples thoughts.)

No but he constantly walks out of the loo with his flies un-done.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 20/10/2012 03:36

Ugh monsterchild my DH too - he's always fucking scratching and doesn't matter how many times I tell him it's unhygienic or say he can't touch the DC til he's washed his hands he continues - even doing it in his fucking sleep and waking me up Angry

FolkGhoul · 20/10/2012 07:55

No. DH says it's disgusting.

monsterchild · 20/10/2012 15:16

OneMoreChap I don't mind the adjusting or hand in the pants too much, we all move all day and things need squaring away!
It's the smelling after the adjustment/scratch that just gets me!

However, I think it's hilarious, really, so I just mock him.

RuleBritannia · 20/10/2012 15:28

My DH never did this not that I noticed anyway.

However, I was at work one day where my immediate boss was a senior partner. I knocked and went into his room only to find both hands down his trosuers. I expostulated (yes, I did), he pulled out his hands and said that he'd had an itch. I knew he was probably uncomfortable because he'd just had a vasectomy so I dealt with the immediate business and, as I left, I just said, "Carry on, Barry."

HeinousHecate · 20/10/2012 15:33

no. i have never seen my husband do this in the 14 years we've been married.

I am constantly hearing how men are always faffing about down there and I have never seen it.

HeinousHecate · 20/10/2012 15:33

Hmm I sound disappointed. sorry about that. Grin

JugsMcGee · 20/10/2012 15:34

I've told DH that MN thinks he's a minger. He said MN can do one Grin

Foul creature.

BloodRedAlienReflux · 20/10/2012 15:43

Jesus! My oh does this when he's tired, or just really comfy, no fiddling just holding! I think it's cute, like a blankie or something, I don't think it's disgusting (how did you get it together to have kids?)
I wouldn't be able to tolerate nose picking, but cock holding in a cuddly kinda way? yes!
so YABU

susiedaisy · 20/10/2012 15:48

My exH used to do it all the time when watching tv then handle the remote!

BloodRedAlienReflux · 20/10/2012 15:50

So what????!!!! Do you all seriously think dicks are this germ/filth ridden? Do u gargle bleach after..... oh never mind

susiedaisy · 20/10/2012 15:51

Not sure I found it disgusting as much as disconcerting and distracting, especially when trying to hold a conversation with someone who was constantly rummaging!

HeinousHecate · 20/10/2012 15:51

come on. waggling your cock and sniffing your fingers is bloody revolting Grin

I knew someone who used to put his finger over his arsehole, fart and sniff his finger.

Sooooooooo sexy. Hmm

GhostShip · 20/10/2012 15:52

What is it with men and rummaging though? You don't see women playing with their clitoris or flaps.

My little brother used to wrap his willy around a pencil, and on the odd occasion would put it in the letter box and walk backwards Confused it was a very low letter box btw

he was only about 5 at the time but it still tickles me...

BloodRedAlienReflux · 20/10/2012 15:56

My friends brother had to go to the doctors to have a marble removed from under his foreskin!! (was a child, i should add?!)
And, agreed, sniffing after rummaging >

BadLad · 20/10/2012 16:47

Ghostship, that's because flaps and clitorises are less likely to feel as if they're being sliced off by the underwear.

If it falls in the wrong place, the man's package can be absolute agony, and boxer shorts are worse than y-fronts for this.

If there's no-one around and I'm in the house, I sometimes have a quick, um, um fondle Blush but usually over the top of my trousers. Thought I was being subtle until DW asked me why I did it so often.

PedanticPanda · 20/10/2012 16:48

Hmm my DP does this too, yuck.

WaitingForMe · 20/10/2012 17:03

Confused Heavens no. I'd be stunned if DH behaved in such a manner.

I regularly have to tell my stepsons (7 and 4) not to do it. Isn't it a parents job to teach young boy to be civilised? I'd be unimpressed if they are still doing it as teenagers as it's such common immature behaviour.

NotAChocolateRaisin · 20/10/2012 19:53

I think if your underpants are uncomfortable enough to require rearrangement so often that people notice - its time for new undies.

And I have had the odd pair of knickers that have...ahem... been uncomfortable in my secret areas... so I can imagine this discomfort.

eurowitch · 20/10/2012 20:18

It's unhygienic and common.

honeytea · 20/10/2012 20:29

My dp does this but only at home, he washes then sits in his boxers and sort of fondels his balls and holds/strokes his cocky, I think it's cute, if he's been out all day tge fondling is a little more frantic like he has catching up to do.

I have said to him that when our baby is born in December he needs to stop doing it as I don't want him to be a bad influence to our son.

The sniffing thing he doesn't do but if he did I'd find that a bit yuk.

honeytea · 20/10/2012 20:30

Cock not cocky,

susiedaisy · 20/10/2012 21:02

euro Grin

GhostShip · 21/10/2012 09:29

badlad

theres nothing wrong with 'fixing' yourself, I think we're talking about full on fondling here.

and women do have to have a bit of a fix moment sometimes i do when I'm pulling my thong from places it shouldnt be

susiedaisy · 21/10/2012 09:53

Thongs also known as cheese wire pants in this house!
