I have just gone to dispose of wee in the potty and tripped over the bloody bathmat that I was supposed to have washed today but forgot

I managed a kind of hop and save so that the potty and wee went in the sink.

All over my toothbrush Hmm

But thats not the gross bit. The gross bit was I have actually just weighed up the pro's and cons of either cleaning and using my toothbrush vs borrowing dh's until I can be bothered to fetch a new one.

Seriously? At what point did I stoop to the level where I consider which is preferable, a piss on toothbrush used by myself, or a toothbrush used by my husband.

AIBU to ask which you'd pick?
Offsprings piss or OH mouth germs?

Put wee toothbrush through a cycle in the dishwasher, and use that.

ScooseIsLooseInTheHauntedHoose · 19/10/2012 17:12

Go to the shop and buy a toothbrush at one at sharing a toothbrush!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 19/10/2012 17:17

Me and DH share a toothbrush. Surely if you snog it's basically the same?! (our toothbrush isn't manly though, those of you whose DHs have manly toothbrushes, what do they do with it?!)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 19/10/2012 17:17

Ok obv I meant manky, bloody autocorrect!! Blush

OrangeLily · 19/10/2012 17:21

What the fook? Who are these people who SHARE toothbrushes????? Do you mean you share an electric toothbrush but change the heads? We've done this to cut down on luggage when flying but actually SHARING?! What is the reasoning here?

I would not brush my teeth with either but perhaps leg it to the nearest corner shop!

mumto2andnomore · 19/10/2012 17:26

I can't understand why people won't share their husbands toothbrush we often pick up the wrong ones or share when we go away doesn't bother me at all

DistressedMumHELP · 19/10/2012 17:26

I would skip cleaning my teeth tonight and just use mouth wash and buy a new one tomorrow (lots of mouth wash though)

QuenelleIsOrangeAndGoldForNow · 19/10/2012 17:29

Pissy toothbrush for me.

There are plenty of very good reasons not to share a toothbrush here.

maddening · 19/10/2012 17:31

Milton the pissy toothbrush (or your dh ?)

Zombieminx · 19/10/2012 17:31

Batcave Grin

Erm I'd use DH's toothbrush for the reason Lueji gave.

SarryB · 19/10/2012 17:32

Chewing gum?

SoleSource · 19/10/2012 17:34

I clean the toilet with my toothbrush.

HoneyDragon · 19/10/2012 17:37

Reasons for not using dh's
Icky bits of dh food and nicotine crumbs
He has horrible gum disease
He brushes his teeth to hard
I might catch gum disease and have a heart attack

Reasons for not using mine
It has had piss on it.

Reasons for not going to the shop
Do I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave to????

NickNack You are not playing fair Grin you HAVE to choose OH germs or toddler piss? And nbfore you complain at least your choice is purely hypothetical!

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 19/10/2012 17:37

SoleSource Why use yours when you could use someone elses?

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 19/10/2012 17:38

Can you use your child's toothbrush (after them and buy you both a new one before they use it tomorrow)?

MrsVincentPrice · 19/10/2012 17:44

I tend to share my DH's mouth germs on a daily basis - is this suddenly a disgusting thing to do? Did I miss a memo? I thought it was only prostitutes who refused to snog.

We do have separate toothbrushes but if mine broke or got lost I wouldn't hesitate for a second to borrow his. The link explaining why you shouldn't share toothbrushes says it's because it can transmit Hep C - again, if my DH had Hep C I'm pretty sure I'd have it too.

HoneyDragon · 19/10/2012 17:48

Eurgh no. Dc tooth brushes are too soft.

OP posts:
sneezecakesmum · 19/10/2012 17:50

Soak them both in neat bleach for an hour and RINSE THOROUGHLY.

Then you can take your pick.

me.... I'd not brush my teeth for a day and buy a new brush tomorrow, certainly not go out tonight for one Grin

soontobemumofthree · 19/10/2012 17:52

What a dilemma! OH mouth germs!

SoleSource · 19/10/2012 17:52

Lol Honey

I knew a friend whose family went on holuday with one toothbrush for the use of all four of them!!

HoneyDragon · 19/10/2012 17:56

sneeze when you say soak both in bleach do you mean

My toothbrush and dh's toothbrush?

or

My toothbrush and dh?

I don't think I have enough bleach to do all of dh.

OP posts:
shrimponastick · 19/10/2012 17:57

I have only shared a toothbrush once.

Me and DH alone in a caravan. I forgot mine ( I tend to use all his toiletries, face cream, deodorant etc).

Anyway, no shop in walking distance, couldn't drive as had been drinking.

I bought us both a new one the following day.

RuleBritannia · 19/10/2012 18:07

I do right then - just in case. I hoard all the feebie toothbrushes from long haul flights and the pens and the eye masks and the notepads and the ear plugs and the combs and the shoehorns and the packs of butter that I don't use and the cheese that I don't eat and the biscuits that I don't eat and the rolls that I don't eat and the fresh fruit that I don't eat and the small bottles of wine that I don't drink. They are all used in the end but the handles of the toothbrushes break too easily.

RuleBritannia · 19/10/2012 18:07

*freebie

Fairylea · 19/10/2012 18:09

I'd rather die than share a toothbrush.

I think I'd wait till tomorrow and get a new one !!!
