To want to be on Housewives of NYC?

I bloody love it. I am neither loaded, nor American, but wonder if they would be interested in a token poor English person.

I want to go to New York Fashion Week, I want to smooze with people in the evenings wearing fabulous clothes (me and them) and poke around gallery openings and drink Margarita's (even though I don't know what's in one). Then go back to my condo and put my pj's on.

I want to borrow beautiful handbags (not made out of animals), I want to spend summer in the Hamptons. I want to go to Zarin Fabrics and stroke all the lovely silks.

I think I might be in the wrong profession, I need to turn the clock back 20 years and get an intern at Vogue NY or something .

Just remembered I used to watch The Hills! OMG.
I rely on ITV2 to get my Housewives fix. But they keep stopping and starting the series. Is there anywhere else you can watch episodes online even? I havent got Netflix or anything like that. Or Sky.

I love the NY one & OC. Never seen New Jersey & only just found out there's a Beverley Hills one too!

I want to be one of those awful women too. Even Ramona. Can't stand her but would love to be her for a week.

Bev Hills is my absolute favourite. I love Lisa's humour.

I love the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it's just brilliant. I want to be Lisa's friend. They are ace. And always arguing, which is even more ace. Can't wait for the next season to start, I'm having withdrawal symptoms.

OMG all those those used to be my guilty pleasure, they had them in re runs at lunch time and I'd watch before going to pick up Dd at school. The NJ and Atlanta ones were bloody awful, fighting and nasty. Orange county were fun, and just not with reality, so funny. NYC I really did like except that pretentious couple with the little boy they used to talk to in French, they were creepy living in a half finished house. I only saw a couple of Beverly hills ones and so much plastic surgery in that one, worse than Orange county.
I wish they'd put them on a lunch time again, Dh started to get into it on his weekdays off too

What about Washington that was a shocker and they stopped it after the first series.

God I can't believe there are Housewives of Other States and I don't know about it! That's what happens when you don't have Sky I suppose, tat telly passes you by :(

I got a bit sick of Orange County women, I do at last feel like the NYC ones are a bit intelligent. I mean Vicky of OC is clearly very good at her job and Jeana was lovely (even though they all seemed to hate her in the end). I HATED the one who got divorced and had fake boobs, married to Simon and he was really controlling, can't remember her name though, she was horrid.

California can't you record them and watch them at lunchtime the next day?

Swim I get the impression the Countess got divorced because they didn't spend much time together due to his work commitments and then he met a Ethiopian Princess and there was a hint a few times about the Countess seeing other people < disclaimer I don't know if this is actually true >

Heather is quite new on OC, she makes me laugh. cakegate was hilarious. I like Gretchen, she seems harmless.

In OC I've gone off Gretchen.Vicky in the hospital scene was hysterical,totally "me,me,me".Can't believe her poor poss cancer suffering dd had to comfort her on the way to her op!!

Yes, the Beverly Hill's one had Kelsy Grammer's ex wife on it.

I liked them all except for the DC one and the Vancouver one.
I can't stand Luann or Kelly. Especially Kelly. And all of the Vancouver ones really let me down. Was hoping they'd have some sort of integrity about them, but they are as bad as all the American ones, even worse than some.

I didnt really warm to Jo much< she was Slades first housewife , hes currently on his THIRD housewife Gretchen > Jim thought he was better than all of them, he never wanted to go to any of the parties. Alexis was vvvvv shallow. Think Bravo got rid of her but dont know why.

She was on last OC (alexis) not got this season yet, so dunno. Didnt get into OC until about 3 seasons ago so never saw Jo.

Beverly Hills is the best- one lady had loads of 30k beauty machines in her house and washed a chicken with either washing up liquid or hand wash as had never cooked before.

It is my secret afternoon pleasure. DH was off work two weeks ago, came in the front room and said 'you don't watch this shit rubbish do you?'

I said 'no of course not you can switch it over' - he bloody did too and i wanted to punch him!

Just as well we can multi task otherwise there would be no time for mumsnet as we all seem to be addicted to trashy T.V.

I have tried the Housewives of NY, but personally much prefer the Housewives of Orange County. Absolutely addictive. I enjoyed it more than NY housewives as they were more relaxed and had more fun somehow and wore more interesting clothes! The NY housewives always seemed to be cooped up in each others apartments arguing, whereas the OC ones went to interesting restaurants, holidays and sat in big gardens and their love lives seemed more interesting

The last series of OC housewives was a bit strange though, especially Vikki. That really strange guy she hooked up with and everyone warning her he was an opportunist. Slade - hmmm - I could never make up my mind about him. A bit of a chamelon?

However, didn't envy their the obsession about their appearance. They were all attractive but it was a F/T job, the gym, the botox, etc.

Lynne separated I thought they were forever. Mind you he did do the unforgiveable thing in OC, get poor ....

p.s. I also think of the many divorces on OC. Perhaps this is because the wives got pretty famous in their own right, and confident, and had more of the world at their feet, so they could have more freedom in their choices in life. Even Alexis starting standing up to Jim if I remember before she left. Gosh, I must stop writing about this programme ...
