Dyeing poo stained stuff and selling it?

ihatemycat · 15/10/2012 11:41

I have loads of baby items which have poo stains on which I just can't seem to remove... towels, vests, sleep suits etc.
Would I be unreasonable to dye them with Dylon and sell or pass them on? I'd be upfront about it but not sure if people would be grossed out...?

I would bin them. You won't get much in eBay for dyed poo clothes! Really not worth the effort.

maebyfunke · 15/10/2012 11:43

If they are stained with poo don't sell them just throw them away.

TequilaMockinBird · 15/10/2012 11:43

Yuck! Bin them

UsingAPsuedonym · 15/10/2012 11:44

Just pass onto clothes recycling!

snala · 15/10/2012 11:44

Eeew Hmm
Yabu!

PropertyNightmare · 15/10/2012 11:45

Plus all the supermarkets sell vests, babygros etc extremely cheaply so I really can't see anyone being desperate enough to buy poo stained dyed clothes on eBay.

UnChartered · 15/10/2012 11:45

ask yourself if YOU'D buy shit-stained clothes from a stranger and then decide?

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 15/10/2012 11:45

I can't believe anyone would actually consider buying them. At least not for enough to cover the cost of the dye!

It's minging, bin them. Or dye them and put them in a clothes bank.

MrsKeithRichards · 15/10/2012 11:46

Better nappies?

MrsKeithRichards · 15/10/2012 11:46

In fact even my nappies don't come out the wash with poo stains!

PropertyNightmare · 15/10/2012 11:46

Don't clothes recycling want clean, washed clothes though? I am starting to chant 'bin it', 'bin it'!

Pochemuchka · 15/10/2012 11:47

Yuk! I just binned all mine.

You've made me chuckle with your entrepreneurial spirit!

Noqontrol · 15/10/2012 11:47

I wouldn't want them. Esp when they are so cheap in supermarkets and primark. I wouldn't waste your time.

HappyHalloweenMotherFucker · 15/10/2012 11:47

Yuuuk

NumericalMum · 15/10/2012 11:49

We can stick clothes like that in our recycling bin.

MrsKeithRichards · 15/10/2012 11:50

Even non poo stained vests are barely worth selling!

Have you tried the pink Vanish stain remover capsules? They are amazing!

PickledFanjoCat · 15/10/2012 11:54

You get buttons for baby clothes on eBay unless designer or similar.

You can buy brand new vests from
Asda very cheaply, you will need to charge a couple of quids postage.

All in all, a shit idea Grin

SparkyTGD · 15/10/2012 11:55

Are you the poo-troll? Grin

Am joking, I recognise your name from your cat-thread ages ago.

Collywibbles · 15/10/2012 11:59

Charity shops take stuff like this for rags - they get money / kilo. I am always taking tatty pants / odd socks / etc (washed obviously) so I am sure they would take your poo stained vests! Just make sure they know it is a bag of rag stuff NOT for sale Smile

silverten · 15/10/2012 12:04

Well I've dyed stained stuff (not sold it though). I used dark colours and it covered up a frankly amazing amount of marks, and looked quite good.

Economically probably not worth it (I dunno though, vests are, what, a fiver for three? if you have a load that would be otherwise useable then a fiver's load of dye goes quite a long way) but I just couldn't justify binning perfectly useable clothing that simply looked a bit unattractive. The waste!

safflower · 15/10/2012 12:05

OP you are GROSS

Dogsmom · 15/10/2012 12:05

This is surely a joke?.....
