I am about to be a bit of an arse to my neighbour who is actually an arse all of the time actually

My neighbour is an arse. A very selfish arse. I posted about him and his beastmobile on here a few months back. Here is the backstory if you fancy it

The condensed version is, we live on a street with mainly terraced/Victorian houses many with no parking. This neighbour has three cars with just him and his wife living there. He has two massive 4X4 jobbies which he parks on the road (he has a front garden turned into a drive btw) He bought the most recent 4X4 to replace his other one, which he has just left parked outside someone else's house without shifting it for almost two months. The tyres are flat, the tax is out of date and it's full of rubbish.

It makes my piss boil tbh. I am thinking about reporting the car as abandoned. I don't think that he has any intention of moving it and he is taking up two spaces with his now defunct twatmobile. Angry

AIBU if I report it as abandoned?

My friend's neighbour's car has false number ates. Can she teport him and to whom?

Sorry for hijack OP

Confused, perhaps the Council were rubbish because having no tax is a DVLA issue, not a Council matter. Councils have a certain amount of power to remove a truely abandoned vehicle, but if it's your neighbour's it is unlikely to be actually classed as abandoned (owner having no intention of returning).
SoleSource, false plates is much more serious, as it is fraud, and therefore a police matter. Whether or not they care is a different story, of course.

Buppy, you said (and I quote):

^I will update the shit out of this thread, mah bitches!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm HMM.^

Well? Well?

Marking my place cos this is making me giggle a lot.

StuntGirl · 16/10/2012 00:11

You think that's bad, someone down our street has one of those big billboard trailer things attached to the back of their car which obviously takes up an extra space outside someone elses house. Its an advert for Dominos! I would weep if that was what faced me outside my living room window every day!

is this a thread where everyone agrees, and no one has come on to say 'you're such a bitch, glad you're not my neighbour, why don't you mind your own business'?

Is there some sort of mumsnet award for this?

18 months posting and about five years before that of lurking, and I don't think I've ever seen one of these before.

ZombTEE · 16/10/2012 05:36

I highly disappointed by the lack if updates.

SuePurblybilt · 16/10/2012 07:13

Oh no, what if the council turned up to Bupples' street looking for a clapped out old wreck hanging about the street corners and took her ?

Oooo exciting! Someone reported my car abandoned once, it had up to date tax and everything but they just didn't like where it was parked for about 3 days (outside a block of flats, not even anyones "parking space" as it were.. but in your situation, DO IT!

I seem to remember they just put a notice on the windscreen to move it or something.

Jux · 16/10/2012 17:20

If it's parked in such a way that it's blocking someone and they can't get IN, then you can call the cops and they will take it away, apparently, asap. We were told it was an offence if the person couldn't get in, but not if they couldn't get out.

Can you move it when he's at work (get a load of local youth to bump it along) until it's stopping one of your neighbour from getting into their drive.....

You can report it to the police if it's on a public road and not taxed.

They'll tow it and he'll have a certain length of time (can't remember how long exactly) to pay the hefty fine to have it released or they'll crush it!

Just sayin.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 20/10/2012 20:13

So what happened?!!

CaliforniaLeaving · 20/10/2012 21:28

I figured this would be towed/clamped or burned out by now. So whats happening!

sooperdooper · 20/10/2012 22:30

Yeah, double reportage, do it on the DVLA too - can you check if it has insurance??
