Look at it, it is a beauty and I want it....

www.thanedirect.co.uk/products/housewares/h2omopx5/h2omopx5.php

It is a mop plus hand held.

Has anyone got one?

PS: I am 9 days away to give birth and I am watching way too much TV.

Check out the amazon reviews for the x5. They are pretty damming! Particular if you are in a hard water area.

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 03/10/2012 19:00

Oh QVC, I have not dared venture there yet, way too dangerous

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 03/10/2012 19:11

if you live in a hard water area, can you put boiled water in the X5.... does that get rid of the scale? The X5 is way cheaper on QVC (£70 instead of £100). Now I need to convince my bf....

actually the reviews on QVC are rubbish too.... :(

I have one and I use filtered water...

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 03/10/2012 22:20

Bobyan how long have you had it?

About 7 months, it's really great on the floors but I don't use the attachments that much as they are a bit fiddly...

SilverSky · 03/10/2012 22:45

We use deionised water from b&q. Tis cheap. We use the mop 3-5 times a week. It's do quick and simple to use and brilliant. As a handheld it's a but heavy but it's got rid of all the hard water tide marks on our white tiles.

We have a dog paw prints and a husband with bloody big dirty boots in and out the house all day and it's fantastic.

Our oven needs professional help I fear. It's that rank. I also want to give my blinds a going over but with a toddler and ten week old I'm struggling to find the time.

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 06/10/2012 12:14

look at this one... it is cheaper essentials.guardianoffers.co.uk/buy.cfm/cleaning/2-in-1-steam-mop/41/yes/64514/thisshop/1/shopname/3

has anyone got it?!

I need one

plutocrap · 06/10/2012 19:37

I have the Shark 2 in 1, which I got from Lakeland, and it is getting a real caning this week, with the DC vomming, one after the other. However, I do use it almost daily, too, for the kitchen floor under my BLW-fed baby! There are separate intensity settings for laminate, tile, etc

CaliforniaLeaving · 06/10/2012 22:04

I just dropped my Eureka steam mop off at the charity shop. I worked well enough but wasn't getting the grout lines, so I've gone back to my mop and bleach water the kitchen floor is looking better already.
I did like how it dried out very quickly with the steam mop and was handy when I had crawling babies, (no chemicals)

PostBellumBugsy · 15/10/2012 14:53

Wonders if iwishiwas has had her baby?

Just to update, as I bought the X5 and I am really pleased with it, although it is not quite as spectacularly amazing as it looks on the ads on the TV!

The mop function is very good & it does a great job on the kitchen floor (some kind of composite stone tile). It also perks up the carpets on its glider thing.

I've found the upholstery attachment is great for the sofa & the cushions.

If I have a disappointment, it is that the handheld nozzle isn't strong enough to blast away limescale or clean the oven.

And, a very unexpected bonus, is that I can use it on my hair. I know you will all think I am bonkers, but it is great to help make hair curly. I have wavy hair & in the winter, I usually end up straightening it, as it won't dry curly because it is too cold. The steam from the cleaner, makes it curl really well. I've put it on my head a few times now & end up with lovely ringlet type curls!!!!

jjbingo · 15/10/2012 18:53

I've tried a few steam mops including the H2O X5, but the best one I've found is the Vax S2S Bare Floor Pro.

www.groogr.co.uk/steam-mop-reviews/vax-s2s-bare-floor-pro-review

Have a read through this review and watch the video at the bottom which shows how it works.

they have the offer back on wowcher that i linked when it was ended. i told you i will look out for it again

wishingchair · 22/10/2012 14:55

Am looking at the wowcher deal now pud1!

So tell me ... do you have to hoover first to get all the bits up, or can you just go straight to steam mopping??

pud1 · 22/10/2012 15:15

no you do have to hoover. my friend bought the wowcher one and we have compared it to my X5. the only difference is that the x5 has about 10 inches longer lead. i paid £110 for my X5 with delivery. friend did say it took forever to come though but thats usuualy the case with wowcher/groupon

wishingchair · 22/10/2012 15:21

Fab! Just ordered one. Muddy dog, kids and husband who is getting better but will still tramp around in muddy shoes ... this will definitely help

ClutchingPearls · 22/10/2012 15:30

I'm waiting for my new vax one to arrive, bloody amazon prime first order hasn't turned up yet and I want it now

Its took me 6 months to convince DP its so much better than a normal mop and the house will be 100% cleaner just by this steam machine being in the house. So it had better be perfect now.

wishingchair · 22/10/2012 15:34

Good luck with it!

Course we need a bit of dirt in the house to build our immune systems so it should never be perfect or you'll all start getting sick. That's my logic and I'm sticking with it!

BeyondLimitsOfTheLivingDead · 23/10/2012 19:33

Today I used my shiny new vax one to steam the tortoises tank, I chanced it on the toddler-food encrusted leather chair (it was fine, phew), cleaned my patio windows and my hob. It is amazing!! I am glad this thread started or I might still be umming and ahhing about it now :) thank you!!

carmensworld · 12/06/2013 15:12

I use mine on a daily basis and I really never thought it would be so addictive. I've had mine for over a month now and it takes me literally only 15 minutes to get my whole downstairs looking brand new. I got it at www.h20mopx5.co.uk

I'd definitely recommend grabbing one to any mum out there ! A real timesaver.
