Look at it, it is a beauty and I want it....

www.thanedirect.co.uk/products/housewares/h2omopx5/h2omopx5.php

It is a mop plus hand held.

Has anyone got one?

PS: I am 9 days away to give birth and I am watching way too much TV.

I bought one 3 years ago. It got used about 4 times. The novelty soon wears off.

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 02/10/2012 12:44

NameChangeGalore that is what I am worried about, but I never really clean my floors (just hoover them), and with a pending baby and two old cats, I need something so the baby is safe when she crawls around (I just make up that argument as I wrote it!!).
What do you use to clean your floors... mops are rank!

I'm very tempted to get one and you ladies are not helping me to resist Grin

Does anyone have a cheap one? I want a mop and a handheld, so would i be better off getting an expensive one that does both, or two cheaper ones??

Mrsjay · 02/10/2012 13:03

I want one that does both now i have the hand help 1 I wish i had bought a combined 1 now

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 02/10/2012 13:26

I may have just bought one...

NameGotLostInCyberspace · 02/10/2012 13:35

YANBU. I have lusted over the X5 for months Smile

Birdsgottafly · 02/10/2012 13:37

A question for those that have one, please

Do you have lino? would it melt the glue, do you think?

HazleNutt · 02/10/2012 13:41

I have a Polti Vaporetto 4,5 bar steam cleaner and indeed is excellent. We have tiled floors, nothing cleans them like that and no spots or streaks.

MrsReiver · 03/10/2012 09:41

Hairy Poppins, I have the H2O mop in the OP's link.

We have lino and carpets and it works on both, we've certainly had no problems with it melting the glue under the lino and I've been using it almost ever week since last Christmas. It's really quick and easy to use. I wouldn't be without it.

I don't work for them, honest!

PostBellumBugsy · 03/10/2012 11:28

I've just ordered it. I'm actually excited!!!!! PBB runs away skipping and determined to ignore worries about fuelling her already slightly OCD cleaning habit

MrsReiver · 03/10/2012 11:32

You won't regret it Smile I've just used mine through my full flat, I've not done it for a while (although I do hoover 2-3 times a week) and the microfibre cloth was black. It's satisfying and embarrassing at the same time.

greenbananas · 03/10/2012 11:40

I have a Bissell steam mop (Which Best Buy, bought after seeing the thane one advertised on TV). It is pretty frightening seeing the quantity of muck coming up off the floor... to think I used to live with all that muck!

Birdsgottafly I have lino / cheap vinyl flooring and it hasn't melted the glue.

Cydonia · 03/10/2012 11:42

YANBU. I really want one too. I had talked myself out of it thinking it can't be as good as it looks, but thanks to this thread may have to succumb.

LemonBreeland · 03/10/2012 11:48

I saw that advert at the weekend and was pretty impressed.

There is a Vax one on Groupon today, doesn't have all the tools though, it's just for floors. People do seem to rave about steam floor mops on here though.

DH has a Vax one in his shop. I plan on nicking it today to try at home.

derekthehamster · 03/10/2012 11:56

I got one for £25 from asda a couple of weeks ago. No hand held bit, but I have a large steam cleaner with one of those, and I never used it.

I've used it most days, it's very slim, no bigger than a broom really for storing purposes.

It amazes me the amount of muck that comes off my wood floor, and it's much easier than getting the mop out!

steam mop

oldraver · 03/10/2012 11:57

Is this the X5 ? DS once watched the advert for it one Saturday morning and became obsessed with it, reeling off all the reasons why we had to have it. Only this mornign he mentioned somethign along the lines of "wouldn't it be good if the X5 was a 9in1"

He nearly wet himself when we stayed with a relative and they had one....

iwishiwasalittlebitfitter · 03/10/2012 13:31

My bf suggest we thought about it, but I expect he is just buying time as I am giving birth any day now (39 weeks today) so I will forget about it once the baby is here. I need to act fast (for the safety of the baby of course).

I ordered a vax s6, it should be here this afternoon!!

Can you steam leather upholstered chairs, or will it cook the leather?! DS1 has started eating at the dining table.....

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 03/10/2012 14:04

I also want one!!! Sad

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 03/10/2012 16:32

Mine is here! I want to play with it now :(

griphook · 03/10/2012 18:04

The reviews on amazon aren't great. But after watching the ad at 3am every morning when feeding ds I want one.

But Argos have a vax one which comes with a hand held bit which looks good with better reviews

ihearsounds · 03/10/2012 18:14

I have the previous model of the H20. Look on ebay and amazon they always have offers, that work out cheaper than going through thane.

I love my mop. Had tried the vax one previously and is was meh compared to the h20. I clean everything with it - windows, oven, tiles, floors, appliances, blinds the lot. I use it once every couple of months or when stuff needs doing. Also noticed that I spend less on cleaning products, as everything seems to stay cleaner longer.

cocoaGOLDchannel · 03/10/2012 18:17

Will it clean the smoothie DD has rubbed into my sofa?

Snatchandjerk · 03/10/2012 18:22

That infomercial is my porn of choice!!!
QVC sell it for a lot less than thane.direct

Gunznroses · 03/10/2012 18:33
