to think I am not a total twat

It would seem that lots of posters think I am and so lots of my posts have been reported. Resulting in a MN 'warning' about my posting style. I am quiet Shock about this because on the whole my posting style is very anodyne really. I am sure no one 'knows' who I am much less that I am an inflammatory poster. I am really quite upset about the whole thing. Is it now really off to call someone smug or to say they are talking out of their hat? If so maybe it's time for a mn break

I admire all these spreadsheets. I'm too freaking lazy to do one myself.

(Love the name change, SPB)

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/09/2012 16:30

hang on one minute I absolutely did not call anyone a retard. What a foul word

OP posts:
Pagwatch · 30/09/2012 16:35

I would love a spreadsheet. I should hire an administrative assistant to make one for me. I could have categories in different colours - red for wankers, blue for bigots, purple for dickheads. It would be like a rainbow of bitterness.

Funny - thebeesnees said upthread that you didn't say that. I didn't think it was you who would say such a thing Smile

PickledFanjoCat · 30/09/2012 16:36

Bees - if I started a threads saying smokers should pay for their own treatment eg. I would fully expect some people to call me a tWat.

No one supports use of the r word under any circumstances.

PickledFanjoCat · 30/09/2012 16:37

You did right to report that.

Youcanringmybell · 30/09/2012 16:47

Can someone say something really inflammatory and get this party started!!??

PickledFanjoCat · 30/09/2012 16:52

I believe puppies should be culled.

HoopDePoop · 30/09/2012 16:52

I had no previous particular opinion of you OP, but making a thread complaining that MNHQ have told you your posts are too harsh and not even considering that you may have upset people in the past on here is a bit twattish IMO.

Not compulsory on a straight talking website to be rude and insulting - there are plenty of hilarious and witty posters who manage to walk a line and not resort to personal attacks.

All the posters who seem to disagree with deleting posts or reporting shittiness, do you actually think if there was no line drawn in the sand by HQ that the level of debate on here wouldn't quickly become horrible?

Smacks of whining you're being picked on OP and gathering the cool gels round to reminisce about how the good ole days is gone.

I don't think you are a twat funnys.

However, I think the op on the other thread was treated appallingly. The names she was called were disgusting and she didn't deserve it.

GoldShip · 30/09/2012 17:05

I don't either. Some people are report happy and it just ruins it.

Also some people are bloody clever in which they'll insult you but not in a way that could be classed as a 'personal attack'. So they get away with it.

Whereas I just come right out and say it and get reported and posts removed...

SmokyClav · 30/09/2012 17:19

did you used to be mybabysinthegarden??

RandallPinkFloyd · 30/09/2012 17:34

"cool gels" that really couldn't be further from the truth, in my case anyway!

IMO of there were less deletions the standard of debate would be higher as it would make everything more open.

There are a growing number of posters who hide behind deletions. Letting posts stand is for the benefit of the insult-ee just as much as the insult-er.

HoopDePoop · 30/09/2012 18:44

Are there actually more deletions recently or is it just a 'MN has gone to the dogs' type thing that people do every week month or so? Have been here years but namechange a lot. Doesn't seem more deletions to me, have HQ changed their policy? Just seems OP that you are annoyed about not being able to 'speak your mind'.

And I really don't think MN is 'heavily moderated' - hardly!

I don't recognise your name, sorry.

I remember seeing trollhunty style post on the Cherry Menlove thread, and I raised an eyebrow at it, but didn't bother to report. It was hardly worth reporting. I am surprised anyone did.

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/09/2012 22:22

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who has been 'had a word with' Must agree that it makes me feel about 12!

And Eleanor am oddly impressed that you have been banned twice. You are Tenacious D to come back so many times.

I think I need to draw a line here and say comme ci comme ca really. It's not the end of the world just a tad annoying.

Oh and I was never 'thebabiesinthegarden' that just sounds abusive, I was FunnysInTheGarden though before I went all French

InfinityWelcomesCarefulDrivers · 30/09/2012 22:27

yeah i replied, didn;t you get it?
Wink

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/09/2012 22:36

oh Stealth of course I did. And I am sure we have argued on the BF topic as that is one of my bette noire's. But nowt wrong with a good exchange, tis the reason I love MN

OP posts:
FunnysInLaJardin · 01/10/2012 22:20

OK, so not all of my posts quoted by MN were reported, it seems that the fact I was reported was enough to get HQ to look at my recent posts which were technically not in compliance with talk guidelines. One of which was a response to a joke thread asking 'What type of MNetter are you, bully, goaded or sneery regular' I in a lighthearted way responded 'Goader, I do like a good goad'. That was quoted as a reason for being reported.

In another example I got so hacked off with another poster I called them a 'fucking non scientist' that was enough to get me reported and deleted.

I have also been asked to confirm I won't break talk guidelines again. Since I am a good girl I obviously confirmed I wouldn't. Now I feel about 12, well fucked off and about to do a massive flounce.

hmm...I'm with you on the goady comment.
However I did know that MNHQ look at all of a poster's posts if they've been reported, they do say they do this. Didn't know they did it as a rule though

FunnysInLaJardin · 01/10/2012 22:27

usual you would never flounce, I know that. And tis in your honour that I wouldn't. I don't want to come back as Funnys3 after all Grin
