to be a bit pissed off at this arbonne rep?

a good friend of mine (I'll call her Laura) who lives in a different country asked me to meet up with a friend of hers (who lives in the same city as me) as she had a 'business proposition'. I was a bit Hmm but thought 'ah sure why not'.

We met in a coffee shop last week and she showed me a presentation on her laptop about Arbonne skincare (they also do baby products, protein shakes etc). She (and Laura) are Arbonne reps and she was trying to get me to sign up as a rep too. Laura would get some sort of commission from this.

I have to admit the presentation was very good and she made it seem very attractive- "well you already spend money on shampoo/cleanser/eye cream, why not spend with Arbonne and make some of that money back?" etc. And you can 'earn' a mercedes if you make a certain amount of sales Grin.

She cleverly gave me a skin care kit to take away and sample for 2 days (therefore ensuring I'd have to meet her again to return it) and yes, the products seem very nice but I spend a fiver on olay eye cream, I'm not in a position to spend 40 quid on it! But that's beside the point. Apart from having no time to spend on being a rep, I also don't really give enough of a shit

Omgoooosh! I feel embarrassed!! but I want to be honest...I am a Pink status Younique Rep and I have worked hard to get to this status... I have just read all your comments re pyramid schemes and pushy Reps...It's just awful. I would never approach anyone who did not express an interest first! It is so unprofessional. I love the products I sell and it works for me...that doesn't mean it will work for you...you have to want it to, make it work and like the products!!

I have no pressure on me to sell, from my up line...I just do it for a bit of extra cash in the bank!
I'm saving for my husbands 40th next year as I want to treat him (without him knowing its come from the joint account!!!) That's why I chose to do this...because i can do it around my kids and hectic house!! Not because i have pressure from above...and whats more it only cost me £69 to start and I got a kit of make up and a free web page for life!!

In a 9-5 job, do you have a boss?? does that boss have assistants?? and do those assistants have team leaders??
In a 9-5 job Does the Boss earn the most? generally from the performance of his/her team??

Is this Pyramid sales?? just putting that out there not trying to cause a debate!

Have a great day Ladies!! I have some Networking to be doing!! xxx

Arbonne is legal pyramid selling.

I had a nightmare last year when an acquaintance cottoned onto me and then would not leave me alone luring me into Arbonne.

The worst time was when I met her boss who showed me her 'bonus' some jewellery which looked like junk... and then in the pub we were in they honed in on some girls having a night out and tried to sell Arbonne to them too - the other girls weren't at all interested! it was like sharks honing in on a surfer.

I would never go near anything like this, I have friend who is a rep for something like this (something to do with Aloe Vera) and while she uses her Facebook to advertise she has never approached me about, probably because if she did she would get short-shrift!

I have been known to use Avon in the past but won't be doing so again as they've started testing on animals again.

Here there be ZOMBIES

DowntownFunk · 10/06/2015 16:14

This must be an Arbonne merc ... I saw this today and thought the "Arbonne" must be a new trim for Mercs but obv a sales rep's car. How naff.

to be a bit pissed off at this arbonne rep?
meercat23 · 15/06/2015 08:41

I know this is a revised zombie thread but I has been very useful. I found it when looking for Arbonne reviews as I have just been given some samples and invited to a "get together" by a neighbour. Now I know what to expect. Haven't seen any white Mercedes though!

Valandria · 05/02/2016 20:41

Great way to earn money if you work hard at it, horrible way to lose friends and gain fake people who wouldn't help you when your in need. You may get a car, but is that with losing otherwise loyal friends over?

roachslayer · 05/02/2016 21:10

Did you not see the zombie warning or..?

fastdaytears · 05/02/2016 21:16

There are MLM threads of the non-zombie variety

kelmadd1 · 02/05/2017 20:07

Hi, this business isn't for everyone and only those that really work hard at it and make a go at it really move up and do well, if it's a get rich quick scheme that you are after then this isn't it. Obviously as with any business you will have to invest something to start you off with clients, but believe me, it is nowhere near what that rep was telling you you needed to buy. I started off with one small range of the skincare as you also get free product samples in the starter pack to start you off.

frankie001 · 02/05/2017 20:13

It's not a business, it's a pyramid scheme.
Hth.

snapcrap · 02/05/2017 20:24

And this is a zombie thread

frankie001 · 02/05/2017 20:52

Ffs, 2 things I hate!

ThreeLeggedHaggis · 02/05/2017 21:07

Lol @ how many times this thread has been revived. Grin

Someone from Arbonne obviously googles regularly and signs up or gets reps to sign up to defend it. Notice that legitimate businesses don't feel the need to do that.

Legal pyramid selling. Horrible.

These people are worth following. They expose mlms and their tactics.
