AIBU?

Not to want to see a woman's bum in my local paper?

Flicking through the "what's on" section of my local free paper, place where they usually advertise pantomimes, car boots etc and there is a delightful half page advert for a dubious sounding strip club and bar with the headine "5 new girls this weekend, come and see the big girls play" accompanied by a large photo of a bum (admittedly with a slither of g string on it) and dollar notes shoved in it.

Am I BU to expect to a read a local paper without such a blatantly sexist, derogatory picture? Should I complain as its really incensed me. I have 2 very very young daughters but I don't want them to see adverts like that as the norm. Should I write to the letters page (and accept it probably won't get printed) or email the editorial team direct?

It's disgusting. Showing bums like that. Sleazy and foul, prostitution.

Oh my word, I know exactly which local paper you mean - I pointed this out to my DP last week too - totally inappropriate. So for me YADNBU.

The '5 new girls' thing is more offensive. What have men got against calling women 'women' YANBU though.

YANBU, but I think the paper hasn't properly understood the marketing game. Any person who wants to go and see half naked women gyrate with money hanging out of their knickers, knows where to go.
They don't need an advert in the local freebie to find their way there.

OP yanbu.

You can complain online on the Advertising Standards Authority website. Explain that you found this ad offensive and objectifying to women and innappropriate in a free newspaper which your DC have access to.

This may result in them not being able to use this ad again.

OP you're not going to get very far with this because everyone who understands will say YANBU.

And everyone who doesn't will say you are.

Eeww that's enough to put you off your cornflakes ...still could be worse ...could be on fb .

I've a friend ( sort of , not close but were in the same circle) she is a fitness instructor . And she switches between 3 photos as her profile pic ...one is a close up of her arse In a pink lace knickers , 2nd is a close up of her abs , and 3rd is her in her competition outfit - tiny ...and I do mean tiny bikini thing . ( not enough cloth to make a coat for a budgie iykwim ?)

Have said to her it's boggin , but she thinks it's good advertising for her gym ...she's hidden from my news feed . The only reason I haven't deleated her is our 12 year olds are best friends.

Dh has an " arse" on his fb too. She's 44 , used to work with him and was at school with him . Not quite as bad . Photo is wearing fishnets and a tiny red skirt which she's pulled up to flash her arse , from the angle she's turned you can't see any knickers .Again it's a profile pic . I call her "amateur porn granny ". Something's no right with the woman ...she has issues . Most of the messages on her wall are , put some clothes on , put it away , and telling her she would look better with clothes on

YANBU, and I work in the sex industry!Blush I think there's a time and a place for everything, and although I have no problem with nudity and sex, I wouldn't want a picture advertising what is basically a sexual service next to advertising car boot sales Shock. If people want to find places like that they can go online; at least that way those who don't want to see images like this won't accidentally stumble upon them.

the 7 year old said why do they show
peoples bums in advertisement i had a long talk
and now he said "I dont like Seeing people showing there
