ALWAYS separate!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/09/2012 12:35

It's fine if you don't mind your whites going grey or pink.

DP does NOT understand..

NotInMyDay · 18/09/2012 12:36

I have to say that I rarely separate by colour. I don't believe in it Grin

WorraLiberty · 18/09/2012 12:37

Nope it's Clothes Apartheid here too Grin

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 18/09/2012 12:38

I even separate my coloureds.
Reds and blues. Shock

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:40

Yanbu. Whites, darks, bedding, towels need separating!

I might get flamed for this but with 2 girls under 4 I can do a seperate pink wash too Grin

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 18/09/2012 12:42

I always seperate my whites and I also seperate my colours so nothing red gets washed with the other colours.

imnotmymum · 18/09/2012 12:44

always separate whites, coloured . And colours into pastels/brights. I usually do denim together and bedding separate and towels. That said there are 6 of us in the house so always lots of washing to make said piles.

CremeEggThief · 18/09/2012 12:45

Bedding/towels/whites/wools/colours/mats and rugs here.

WorraLiberty · 18/09/2012 12:47

See people are agree with you Sole

Personally I thought you'd be hung out to dry....

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:47

Not one bit of clotheist shame amongst any of you. Shock

OP posts:
SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:48

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 18/09/2012 12:48

Stand firm and take a hard 'line' approach Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/09/2012 12:49

I do lights/darks pastels are usually in lights tbh (unless I need them soon and have few lights to wash then they go dark). Nothing's ever brun in the wash but I do wash at 30.

Bedding is a wash to itself every 2-3 weeks and towels just go in with lights when they need washing.

javotte · 18/09/2012 12:50

I do whites / colours / white wools / dark wools / bedding / towels.

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 12:50

Lol I am all dried up now I think I'll throw in the towel

DinosaursOnASpaceship · 18/09/2012 12:53

I got some red maternity trousers from H&M (why are the legs on their clothes so tight?!) and haven't dared wash them yet.

Do I have to wash them with an entirely red load?
Will they ruin or get ruined by other clothes in a mixed wash?
Will they run?

Far to complicated for me and they are sitting in a pile with a few other bits and pieces that I don't dare wash (a black and white dress - wash with darks or whites?)

I miss having my mother do my washing!

SoleSource · 18/09/2012 13:03

Ooh sorry Dinosaurs. I cannot help :)

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 18/09/2012 13:04

Can't you bung them in on their own or with some dark towels?

Boggler · 18/09/2012 13:07

Always wash whites separately to colours, I also use colour catchers in the colour wash to keep things the correct colour.

YouForgotToCallMePeppa · 18/09/2012 13:08

I do whites, reds, blues, darks, nappies, and towels and bedding.

My mum, with a family of 7, used to do a wash for almost every different colour.

WinklyFriedChicken · 18/09/2012 13:29

Blacks, darks, brights, lights, mixed whites (like white pants with black spots), pure whites, towels, bedding.

No shame about clothesism here!
