i am tired and tetchy.

I have worked every day for the last 10 days culminating in an absolute shitter of a night shift last night.

I am knackered.

Bloody child has just announced it is doing a starlight charity walk tonight and will need collctting at about 1am.

I am in serious need of wine.

My options...

A. Give her the car keys and a quick driving lesson.

B. Tell her she will have to walk home.

C. Go and pick her up.

Bollocks.

And i plan on paying for driving lessons and giving her a car at the earliest possible age. I may need to sell a kidney or 2 to fund it but bollocks. Worth every penny.

So, is she walking home? Smile
This is the same DD that went on the train journey?

SheelaNeGoldGig · 15/09/2012 19:45

No. The other DD. I have 2. I sometimes wonder what I did wrong in a previous life.
I will collect her.

She ows me.

You need a big family calendar on the fridge. With a rule that if it ain't on the calendar in red sharpie, it ain't happening!

diddl · 15/09/2012 19:49

Why couldn´t husband have done it-did I miss that?

And how does she have to do it for school-if so-why haven´t they arranged transport??!!

WofflingOn · 15/09/2012 19:49

I keep a list of all the things my two owe me, and intend to claim back when I retire. So far I am going to be living on truffles and champagne and transported everywhere in a golden wheelbarrow on velvet cushions.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/09/2012 19:51

I'd be leaving her a note about what you want for breakfast, delivered to bed on a tray, with flowers and a cup of tea, no earlier than 10am

SheelaNeGoldGig · 15/09/2012 20:01

They have to do charidee stuff for IB. Why this has to be at midnight on a saturday I don't know.
Its not DHs turn to pick up. But if he loved me he would have offered. Git.
I'm going to be expecting a bacon sandwich delivederd to my bed on waking.

OP posts:
WofflingOn · 15/09/2012 20:03

Ask him.
If he says no, then he is a git. Smile

SheelaNeGoldGig · 15/09/2012 20:08

He offered earlier. But in that kicked dog, i've been cleanjng all day, its not my turn, hard done by, kind of way.

I know this means that actually it is now my own fault but thats not the point.

OP posts:
WofflingOn · 15/09/2012 20:16

No, I'd ignore the puppy eyes and say 'Thank you very much darling' in a brisk and happy tone of voice.
You have teenagers, how can you not know how to ignore the tone and hear the words?

TheCalvert · 15/09/2012 20:16

Feel sorry for you, but boy are you funny when you're pissed off! Your responses have made me giggle. Thank you and I hope you feel better on the pick up!

WofflingOn · 15/09/2012 20:17

I once gave a paper on your namesakes at a folklore conference BTW. Smile

SuperB0F · 15/09/2012 20:17

Woffling is quite right.

SheelaNeGoldGig · 15/09/2012 20:22

I'm a bit more awake now so not so bad.

I do love a Sheela.

OP posts:
ohforfoxsake · 15/09/2012 20:25

But he offered! Doesn't matter how he said it, take him up on it.

You can always make it up to him. Probably by doing the next two weeks picking up. Or something. If he loved you he would.

And if he doesn't, start a thread where we can all tell you to 'leave the bastard'. Grin

flow4 · 15/09/2012 20:33

I DIDN'T REALISE HE'D OFFERED!!! Shock Grin

Where is he now? Has he started boozing yet? If not, now is the moment to approach and say, "I've changed my mind. I'd love you to pick up DD. Thanks so much for offering!" >smile sweetly and run away< Grin
