My dd does street dance.
From what I can gather, it requires the boys in the class to wear one pair of track suit bottoms properly and a second underneath their backsides so you can see the first pair IYSWIM and trainers with laces undone and the girls to have the most amazing hairstyles/extensions and be dressed head to do in Lycra addidas stuff.

It also requires a lot of standing in various positions looking "cool"

Thankfully she is 14 and can do her own hair and a little job which means she can buy said Lycra addidas stuff as I refuse to pay more for a tiny vest thing than the cost of a terms lesson.

Thank god it also requires no parental input, probably because they never do anything worth watching.

DD went through a ballet phase. It was the most miserable year of my life.

Ballet classes- ordinary socks, not proper flesh colored ones. Pariah.
Swimming- constantly have to buy new shoe covers as I lose em and cannot be bothered to take off tights. Like to spend session time reading a book and having a cup of tea alone

I once went to a class at my gym called "Urban Funk" which I thought sounded amazing and would be all freestyle disco street dancing. No. It was an interminable 1.5 hour class run by a blonde posh bird, who taught as a 1 minute routine to a Rihanna song, that mostly involved strutting, some pelvis thrusting and pouting "okay, now yah, walk to the front and STRUT, now THRUST. Okay, yah, again. STRUT. THRUST". which might be useful in Mahiki on a Saturday night trying to bagsy a prince, but does not need my own day to day dancing needs. I was WELL disappointed.
