To stop my nan using my toilet

I know I'm BU but I can't help it. Why is it every time my nan comes over the first thing she does is use my toilet. She has her own toilets at her own house ffs!

It actually revolts me, she doesn't shut the door she doesn't wash her hands and she try's to talk to me while weeing.

I know I'm sounding like a right bitch but it disgusts me. I stand there seething at the the sound of her weeing and farting an talking away.

I live in a flat so I'm trapped in a room until she finishes so I don't see her on the bog. I have spoke to her about this over the years (6) But she doesn't see the problem.

The really unreasonable part is, if this was my friend I wouldn't care less. In fact if we were in town or pub we'd all share cubicals.

I'm a complete cow to begrudge my nan use of toilet right?

Actually OP; you have given me an idea for an AIBU - something that's been bothering me for ages!!

But in honesty i would hate to hear someone farting & weeing etc right next to my kitchen - gross; i also suggest putting on the radio while she's in the toilet because you can probably hear those noises even with the door shut :(

ThePsychicSatsuma · 07/09/2012 13:04

funny thread.
I'd shout her to shut the door.. then squirt her hands with anti bac stuff -
saying ooh Co-op had it on offer it KILLS all of the GERMS when you havent washed.... then bustle off. be interesting to see how she responds to this behavioural psychology experiment hmmmm.
OP you must update the thread on her next visit,.

Latara · 07/09/2012 13:06

Sorry that was my slightly manipulative side showing there... Grin

Hmm maybe i should change jobs & start being a dog trainer; would be more fun that my current job anyway!

Inneedofbrandy · 07/09/2012 13:08

Latara it is gross really gross. The tv is usually on with 1xtra but I turn it off when she comes in. Maybe a switch to heart or radio 2.

I like that psychic I can do it all busily as well.

Will def update if it works..

do you have a sink by the loo?
thinking about this my mum does sometimes talk from the loo, not really noticed before.

Inneedofbrandy · 07/09/2012 13:37

Yes it's a full bathroom, toilet sink bath. She doesn't do it at home or shut the door.

She's also got it where at her house the kids tell her every time they have a poo and she praises them. There 5 and almost 7. It's all very weird.

Does she leave yellow wee droplets on the loo seat too?

OhChristFENTON · 07/09/2012 14:00

I hate it when people continue to talk to me when they are going to the loo, even with my own children I have to say 'save that conversation until you have come out of there' and 'don't forget to wash your hands' Grin

Inneedofbrandy · 07/09/2012 14:05

It has been known name change,

Oh Christfenton please come and be my nan!

OP - use your kids as an excuse! Say to your nan, "I've been trying to teach the kids good manners & hygeine - the importance of closing the door when they go to the loo, flushing, washing hands etc. I wouldn't want their friends to think they're being rude. It would really help if you could get on board too"

Yogagirl17 · 07/09/2012 14:15

Or you could just do what I do to my mum and say "Oh FFS will you shut the damn door! whatever you have to say can wait 2 minutes!" Grin

Inneedofbrandy · 07/09/2012 16:25

Yoga that's a really good idea, I can tell her to do it without actually telling her in a horrible patronising way. Duh homar Simpson moment I should of thought of that!

Good luck! Smile
