What do you think? Would he be better than the one we've got? Boris for PM!!

I agree.

cinnamonnut · 28/08/2012 15:19

I think he'd get quite a lot of votes.

iismum · 28/08/2012 15:20

YABsoU I don't even know where to start. Why would you want an idiotic buffoon as the PM? Just ... why?!

suedpantsoffem · 28/08/2012 15:22

I agree - he'd be great. But he can't be Prime Minister as he's not an MP. He'd need to get himself elected as an MP somewhere first, and would need a vacant constituency for that.

SeashellsAllezModInYellowAllez · 28/08/2012 15:24

Don't encourage him!!! He is a Buffoon, but a dangerous one....and we would be the joke of the world stage.

PureMorning · 28/08/2012 15:24

We already let a posh fool with no real life experience trash the country why would we want another?

Yokel · 28/08/2012 15:26

What do you know about his politics, OP? His attitudes on the issues that matter to you?

Pretty dangerous to vote for someone just because they did well on 'Have I Got News for You'...

EdithWeston · 28/08/2012 15:27

You can't just stand as PM.

You need to become both an MP, and also party leader, either taking on that role when your party is in Government (like John Major) or leading it to a general election victory (or at least a position from which a Government can be formed).

I don't think I'd support a change to a presidential style election for PM.

JumpingThroughMoreHoops · 28/08/2012 15:28

He's probably got one of the sharpest minds in politics. Don't let the "buffoon" fool you - I would imagine people in opposition do that at their peril.

Lottapianos · 28/08/2012 15:29

YABVVVVVU. What's so good about him? He's a right-wing nutter who treats women like crap and has made some racist comments in the past. The buffoonery is just an act and a rather grating one at that Hmm

Zhaghzhagh · 28/08/2012 15:31

iismum - we've had idiotic buffoons for the past few years so let's try a different one.

I lurve Boris.

Vagaceratops · 28/08/2012 15:31

YABVVVVVVU.

Apart from the fact its not that easy, he is an infantile twerp who doesnt seem to know his arse from his elbow.

However he is still better than Ken Livingstone.

LoopyLoopsOlympicHoops · 28/08/2012 15:32

I think it's a great idea. The tories would never get voted in again! Bingo!

MrsReiver · 28/08/2012 15:33

I was going to say YABVVVVVVU, but after Loopyloops' suggestion I think it could be a genius move.

Boris for PM!

cakeismysaviour · 28/08/2012 15:35

Nah, he would be even worse than the one we have.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/08/2012 15:35

He is anything but a buffoon but it suits him to have people believe that he is. I'm really not sure that I would trust him as far as I could throw him (but then I would say that about all most politicians).

SuoceraBlues · 28/08/2012 15:36

It would be like Belusconi 2.0, the tea drinking version, without the sex parties (hopefully)

I like Boris on HIGNFY, he is very entertaining. As was Berlusco, a real change from the same old grey faces that took themselves oh so seriously and needed a sense of humour surgically inserted to have a joke.

That turned out well, didn't it.

sawseesaw · 28/08/2012 15:36

I can't stand Cameron, but why replace him with someone with equally dangerous views hidden behind a jokey cheeky bear-mascot exterior?
YABVU

gordyslovesheep · 28/08/2012 15:38

I am interested OP WHY do you think he would make a good MP? seriously

I think he's a twat and another posh tory - nothing amazing there

FatherReboolaConundrum · 28/08/2012 15:38

He once offered to help a friend (fraudster Darius Guppy) have someone's legs broken - this was when he was an adult, not when he was a teenager. God knows we don't expect much from our prime ministers, if the current one and last few are anything to go by, but I'd prefer ones who haven't been caught on tape conspiring to commit GBH. Under his carefully crafted persona of loveable buffoon, there appears to be a deeply unpleasant buffoon trying to get out.

alienreflux · 28/08/2012 15:39

YABU he's a fuckin twat. that is all.

mignonette · 28/08/2012 15:40

Yes an adulterous twat who has made racially inappropriate and stereotyping comments is just what we need as PM......................

Liketochat1 · 28/08/2012 15:40

I agree he'd have to work on his public image...www.google.com/search?q=Boris+Johnson+zip+wire+photo&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari#biv=i|0;d|f_7W25TjTHVwsM:
I think he's generally well liked and well meaning as well as pretty intelligent. Isn't he?

OP posts:
Blu · 28/08/2012 15:41

I am not fooled by the buffoon act, not one bit.

I am concerned by the dubious policies, lack of transparency, top down style, cynical marketeering, bad character judgements etc etc.

Liketochat1 · 28/08/2012 15:41

Ah.. Boris on the zip wire photo didn't work. I never tire of that image for some reason....
