Cerazette - anyone?

Not so much an AIBU but am posting here as this is the most used page. I hope someone can help?

I've started cerazette after many years off the pill. I started it on day 4 of my period, had a few clear days and am now into day 10 of continual spotting. Is this normal - tbh this spotting is getting me down. I haven't yet finished my first pack - am wondering how long I should persevere before going back to the doc ?

Would never go back on it, got pregnant on it after 2 years, started spotting after a year and a half of no bleeding, so went to the doctors to ask about the bleeding, which she said was normal. Then went back 3 months later when pregnant and questioned if it had been due to beginning to bleed on it and she said 'there has been cases of bleeding making it less effective but nothing official issued yet' would never use it again!

I hated cerazette. No issues at all with any of the combined pills I took but when I was put on the mini pill I could not get on with it at all, I had heavy spotting every 10 days or so - so basically a period every 2 weeks. Joy!

Not been an issue for a while since pregnant but I have just had a coil fitted - that is worry free fun - not having to remember to take a pill at the same hour every day!

I've recently come off it. Thought it was fab to start with, then after about 4 months I started getting a period (week long, proper period with cramps and bloating - not just spotting) on a 14 day cycle - so basically a week off and I was bleeding again. It also gave me lots of big, horrible spots and greasy hair (worse than when I was a teenager - I'm 30). No idea what I'll do now as I'm still bf and don't fancy any of the other options!

I went onto Cerazette after having DS. I had put on quite a bit of weight during my pregnancy and the doctor felt this was the most appropriate pill under the circumstances. However, nothing could prepare me for the crushing, black misery I suddenly felt. I was so, so miserable. It also flattened my libido (maybe that's how it works?!?!) DP begged me to stop taking it and within a couple of days of stopping, I immediately felt "normal" again.

1 month spotting, no bleeding since, feel fine, no side effects, no pregnancy. Works for me. :-)

I was taken off Cilest and put on cerazette as I had developed migraines, I ended up giving up on it after having a month long light period. The GP tried to persuade me to persist with it as it usually settles down after a few months but I was really fed up of it so threw them out!

I had a two week long period at the start of taking cerazette. After that no periods at all bar one day of break through bleeding every 6 months or so. Only problem is is that you can't tell when you are pregnant so I test every now and again. No other side effects. The lack of period is great!

I spotted for about 4-5 months with cerazette, and then my periods stopped. It was crap really, but if you take it at the exact same time everyday the spotting should be lighter. We couldn't have sex properly for months because I was practically always on my period.

On the plus side, I lost loads of weight, downside I turned into a hormonal bitch.

I had about 2 days a month with no spotting. It was a nightmare. My breasts grew 2 cup sizes in 6 months I gained so much weight. Gave up in the end. My GP kept saying it will settle but it was just making me miserable so I stopped.
