To want the neighbour to stop her relatives from parking in my parking spot?

A few years ago, the neighbour demanded that I park on his side of the road to prevent double parking. We called him 'Scotch Git Man' because he was Scottish and was a git.

I parked my car in front of his daughter's car and have been parking there ever since.

SGM has died recently (few weeks ago) and his wife and this daughter have been having relatives to stay and they've been taking my parking spot Hmm There are other places for them to park - a few metres along the street.

The other day I parked behind the daughter's car and saw her glaring at me through the window Hmm

She knows that's my parking spot. She's a git too.

I don't want to park up the street, as I don't want her to get one over on me as she's a git and I don't think gits should get their own way all the time.

AIBU?

Has she a drive I would use that myself that will learn herWink

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:07

She does go out from time to time, so I could park outside my own house if I wanted to, but I'm not a git (nice, soft and fluffy), so have been following the rules and parking on their side of the road. They can't have it all ways can they? They expect too much imo. They are taking the pee.

Yes

Noqontrol · 25/08/2012 21:08

Yes, park in her spot, I would Grin And really you should paint lines on the road to mark out your spot (with your name in it).

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:08

They do have a driver, but she is such a poor driver that she can't manage to get in and out of it. SGM drove a large car and he managed, but she can't for some reason.

Has she got a front garden? I'd park on that.

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:09

'Yes, park in her spot, I would And really you should paint lines on the road to mark out your spot (with your name in it).'

You think?

I'll get wrong off the council though Sad

I know when you have the stress of moving and life is complex it can feel like the little things are going to push you over, but YABU. Ignore pointed looks and the like, she can park where she wants, you can park where you want.

Noqontrol · 25/08/2012 21:10

Yeah, maybe don't add your name then Wink

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2012 21:10

But you will be in the flat up the road hidden. Wink

They have a front garden, but there's a wall in the way.

I did park across the drive exit the other day as they nicked my spot. That was when she was glaring at me through the window. She left me with no option though. I needed to carry stuff out to the car and I have a bad arm (actually two bad arms) and needed the car to be near.

I would park outside my own house from now on tbh

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:11

'Now they are no longer happy with this, they want you to park down the road so they can park two cars outside their house, but you can't park any outside yours'.

Spot on Maryz

Noqontrol · 25/08/2012 21:12

I'd just park outside your own house whenever theres a spot and stop being nice. Alls fair in car parking wars and all that.

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:12

Can I put the cat's name on? She's really nuts and will kill any council worker who objects Grin

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2012 21:13

But it was Mr SGM that asked you, and he is no longer with us, so presumably the agreement is now over?

Noqontrol · 25/08/2012 21:13

Whats the cats name?

The cat is called Debbie. Photo on profile.

Take a look, would you cross that kitty? See her checking out my jugular Confused

I believe your cat is called 'No Parking' isn't it Hidden?

hiddenhome · 25/08/2012 21:15

Actually, I have a confession Blush

When I arrived back from moving all my lovely rubbish up to the flat, her car was gone and their relatives car was parked in my spot, so I parked in her spot Grin

Good for you!!
Actually I think the snake looks more scary than the cat.

ChaoticismyLife · 25/08/2012 21:17

Maryz has it spot on.

Can you build a ramp and park on top of her car?

Noqontrol · 25/08/2012 21:18

Fabulous idea chaotic.
