Genuine question - want to canvass opinions.

As the title says really - would it be reasonable of me to ask inlaws to buy their own stairgates and carseat for DS so that we don't have to unscrew our stairgates and swap out the carseat every time they have him or we go visit?

It's not a huge deal, it's just a tadge irritating!

i think it depends on why the gc is at there house.if its to help you out with childcare then you should provide anything they need to do this.

if its because they want the gc there for the visit or to stay over for none childcare reasons then they should provide the items needed.

if they equipment is going to belong to them then they buy it that way your not buying stuff for the parents of the other gc's to not have to.

fwiw none of my dc's gp's ever had anything like that at there own house but that said they never provide any child care and never stayed without me.but thats just how we roll. my sisters only dc lives next door to our parents and i understand the suituation is different for her dc because hes next door.

We are GPs and have bought three Britax car seats as that is the brand their parents use, and as our GC outgrow them we pass them on to my DIL's sister who has younger children. We had stair gates too. We had a bed guard rail, a monitor, and a changing pad. Those were all new, but we have plenty of used toys, clothes and books.
