My trusty old BlackBerry is not longer trusty and is dying. Will I just look like a nerd or is it still a slick bit of kit. Is it too big?

I have the Galaxy W which has a pretty decent 5mp camera on the back and half decent front camera.

It is slightly smaller than the 2/3 but I prefer that, it rubs on a lower spec system but generally compared to my mums s2 and my brothers s3 it is the same.

Best of all it only costs £21.50 a month including insurance, free wifi, 100mb data, 200 minutes, 150 o2 to o2 and unlimited texts.

It only seems to he available on o2 though.

I got a Galaxy at the same time that my dh got a blackberry. He has serious phone envy, but isn't eligible for an upgrade til next year.

I love my phone, and can't wait until I can afford a galaxy tablet.

SoSoMamanBebe · 20/08/2012 06:57

Going to get it today! Which colour..

OP posts:
Kayano · 20/08/2012 19:37

Blueeeeee

Kayano · 20/08/2012 19:37

Although I may be late lol

MikeLitorisRings · 20/08/2012 19:39

I went for white as it was quicker to get delivered than the blue.

I have a few different coloured cases anyway so today it Is red but tomorrow it may be purple.

FartyMcTarty · 20/08/2012 20:39

Does anyone know how the size of the S3 compares to HTC Desire HD?

SoSoMamanBebe · 20/08/2012 20:44

Got white! Love it. Also, you don't need to 'type' just sweep you finger over the keyboard and it predicts the word. It's magic! Just struggling to remember all my sodding passwords for dropbox/ twitter etc.

Very happy indeed.

I have the Galaxy S i9000 and it's great, can't upgrade for another year but will be staying with Samsung smartphones.

BlinkersOn · 20/08/2012 21:16

White is best as the covers look better on them IMO

Theas18 · 20/08/2012 21:29

Went iPhone to galaxy note here.it us huge but in a good way.I got very Fred up with apples stranglehold on everything-from the apps to the crippled blue tooth to the tie to iTunes.
The note syncs with my google account (Calander email photos etc ) just like i cloud, only better-I have synced it with the PC very rarely-used to spend hours trying to get iPhone and iTunes in sync eg for podcasts
From a practical pov the removable battery is ace-I have a couple of spares-I used to run our of power in iPhone.

Oh and...wink...you can rather easily-I shouldn't on my phone package but in an emergency I can if needed. IPhone tethering only unlocked by network for extra fee

Sallyingforth · 20/08/2012 22:32

Well done SoSo ! I knew you'd love it. Isn't that just a beautiful screen!

Did you know that when you use the dropbox app you get a free 50GB space addition for 2 years?

GWenlockMaryLacey · 20/08/2012 22:33

On principle I would never touch any Apple Products as they are only compatible with other apple products.

Nonsense, utter nonsense.

SoSoMamanBebe · 21/08/2012 05:59

Was out for dinner last night and my friend who used to have one was showing me all the top tips.

She had to give hers up as they had a Mac at home and just couldn't get it to sync properly so bought an iphone. She was very wistful.

It seems that mac products are easy to synch with a PC (what I do for Ipods and Ipads) but very difficult for non Apple products to sync with a Mac.

Anyway, i am very happy and am now going to go out and replace my laptop with another laptop and not MacAir, which i was beginning to consider.

I have resisted the call of the dark side and am very happy as I was beginning to wonder if this was team Beetamax all over again.

Congratulations on venturing out of the world of Apple Grin

DH has IPhone, MASSIVE Mac house computer and Ipad, I have a Blackberry and a Samsung little laptop :)

Apple are over priced evilness.

ColouringIn · 21/08/2012 06:45

I am getting the S3, it is being delivered today, doing housework now as I know all I will do is play with the new phone once it arrives. Grin

SoSoMamanBebe · 21/08/2012 09:47

ColouringIn - I am happily synching contacts, browsing apps now having sent the children out.

Cheshire, I even got white just to break the Apple connotation. My dislike is irrational, i am well aware.

Sorry soso but nearly everyone I know with an iPhone including myself has it in white, bet the Samsung looks good in it though.

RubberBullets · 21/08/2012 10:17

I got an S2 last week. I've always had Nokia but now they have nasty Windows I won't bother with them again. DH is also planning to move to Samsung from Nokia.

SusanneLinder · 21/08/2012 10:51

LOVE my Samsung. My DD who stated her I phone is better, is now complaining cos she cant get music/books downloaded for free.

I am really not sure why an I phone is supposed to be better.

BertieBotts · 21/08/2012 11:09

To be fair, the windows 7+, os on the newer nokia lumias looks very slick and good. You can't get as many apps for it of course, but some people aren't bothered about having a million apps.

comealongpond (ee! 4 days!), there's an app you can get called app2sd which moves apps to your memory card for you, freeing up space on the phone itself. It's a problem with many lower end or older smartphones though that they have such a small internal capacity, I put Skype on my phone to talk to dp for free and the messages kept filling up and grinding my phone to a halt. I'll be looking for something with a bit of internal memory next time.

SoSoMamanBebe · 21/08/2012 11:28

hugandroll that's what I meant, soz I probably wasn't clear in all my excitement! I chose white to try and break the association that everyone has that white = apple. I'm trying to steal back the colour [burglar emoticon].

Ha! Re-read your other post and that's all I can see now. Perhaps having a baby brain moment.
