To ask that if you let your kids play out...

You don't send them round here to shout, scream and charge up and down the street outside my toddler's room?
She has decided NEVER to nap again but still clearly needs to. I am knackered and have loads to do tomorrow. I planned a chilled out evening instead of this noise. It's now nearly 10pm.
PLEASE let me go to bed now.

I take it you've asked the kids to play quietly/move down the road a bit?

It's a bit of a long shot to expect them to be logged in here and running up and down your road Grin

vodkaanddietirnbru · 14/08/2012 21:56

it's not mine - I called her in at 9pm although there were quite a few still out there

parakeet · 14/08/2012 21:56

Yeah, quite right, children should be seen and not heard...

feralgirl · 14/08/2012 21:58

OMG how dare they? In August? In the school holidays?

Hmm
Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 21:58

Trust me I've heard mine all day! I have tried to ask them to be quiet but I am not dressed fit for wandering the streets and they are literally running about screaming. Chatting, playing etc no problem but it's nearly 10pm and I'm cheesed off!

feralgirl · 14/08/2012 21:59

Would add that I am sure that your DD will never make a noise and bother anybody.

Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 22:00

So as it is the holidays and not everyone has to go to school and work they can do what they want? Really? Just me who (is a snob) has thoughtful kids then!?

usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:00

Tell 'em to play up their own end.

FalseStartered · 14/08/2012 22:00

come on, it's 10 pm, OP is entitled to be a bit fucked off if some kids have woken hers up

WorraLiberty · 14/08/2012 22:00

So you haven't actually asked them?

You don't need to wander the streets...just ask them next time they run by.

I just popped the wheelie bin out in my PJs and had a chat with the neighbours!

FalseStartered · 14/08/2012 22:01

orright, usual fancy seeing you here Grin

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 14/08/2012 22:01

what age are these "children"

Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 22:01

Trust me. A toddler makes noise all day (well mine does). In my house (detached), at the park or soft play but 10pm on the street. No.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:01

People always used to yell 'go and play up your own end' when we were kids.

usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:02

ello, Falsie

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 14/08/2012 22:03

go out, ask them to move elsewhere
do it nicely and they will probably move, stay in and fester and they will stay outside having fun

Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 22:03

Not teens. Not KS1. Not drunk. Just rowdy.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 22:04

I think their end is my end!

OP posts:
NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 14/08/2012 22:04

you really will not get anywhere if you don't go out and let them know.

FalseStartered · 14/08/2012 22:04

go out, hands on hips and yell 'CLEAR ORFT!'

dare ya Grin

usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:05

Oh well, if they are on their own fronts not sure what you can do. Go out and say SHHHHHHHHHHHH

Wolfiefan · 14/08/2012 22:06

How about fuck orf? It's polite/posh if I say orf no?

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 14/08/2012 22:06

Im with you Op, I called my dd in remarkably late for her 8.30pm tonight, however at 6.30pm I told her that on the condition she is not too loud she can stay out later.

usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:06

But your curlers in and pinny on first, then shout Clear ORTF Grin

usualsuspect · 14/08/2012 22:07
