I really thought it would bore me to tears, but I've been obsessed by it all and I'm really sad it's all over. Just been watching all the recap stuff and I've got a massive lump in my throat. It's been bloody brilliant!

Can't wait til the Paralympics start :)

Yanbu. Me too.

AlmostAHipster · 12/08/2012 21:07

Me too. My eyes are very gritty - it's all been amazing and I've loved every minute.

DamnBamboo · 12/08/2012 21:08

OOh yes. Me too, we've got tickets to quite a few events, am so exicted.

joanofarchitrave · 12/08/2012 21:08

Me too. Although I knew I would love it...

Can't wait for the Paralympics, but also for Bake-off on Tues...

MammaTJisanOlympicSumoWrestler · 12/08/2012 21:10

YANBU, well if you are, so am I!!

ILiveInAPineapple · 12/08/2012 21:11

Me too and I thought it was going to be rubbish!

I also can't wait for the Paralympics, especially because one of my students from a couple of years ago is competing! I am gutted it is on 4th September though so I will be back at school and can't go and see him :-(

FannyMcNee · 12/08/2012 21:16

Agree OP. I was a right moody cow cynic at the.start, and I've loved it. And it won't happen here again in our lifetime, will it?

marriednotdead · 12/08/2012 21:37

What ^^ she said

marriednotdead · 12/08/2012 21:39

And now Elbow is playing my favourite song

freddiefrog · 12/08/2012 21:45

YANBU!

I moaned incessantly during the build up but I've loved every minute of it and am gutted it's over

I can't wait for the Paralympics, we've got tickets to quite a few events so very excited

Well, at least I'll have time to tidy my house now

And, I bloody love Elbow!

Brightspark1 · 12/08/2012 21:47

I can't believe how much I've enjoyed it, from the excitement of the road races coming through our town to going up to London today just to soak up the atmosphere. Everyone was relaxed and smiling, I wish we could keep this feeling going. London has done us proud

Rhubarbgarden · 12/08/2012 21:48

I think it's all been splendid and I wish small DCs had let me watch more of it.

McHappyPants2012 · 12/08/2012 21:49

Feel proud to be British ATM.

Freddiebump · 12/08/2012 21:51

My regret is that I didn't try for any tickets. My mum was always really big into sport, and we'd planned that I would have time off work over the Olympics and we'd go to as many events as we could. Then Mum died 3 years ago, and I thought I wouldn't enjoy it at all without her, but I really, really wish I'd got to see some of it live, especially the equestrian bits.

I don't do sport, I don't watch sport, I know nothing about sport, I've no interest in sport.

I've bloody well loved watching some of the various sports shown in the Olympics Grin

coocoocachoo · 12/08/2012 21:53

Loved it too, I took a weeks holiday just so I wouldnt miss any - thought that may have been silly but wished I'd booked two!

Watching the closing ceremony and may even not switch over to watch Strikeback Project Dawn at 10pm - decisions, decisions....

wobbling........

Noqontrol · 12/08/2012 21:54

I don't do sport either, but its been absolutely amazing. I feel proud to be British today. So sad that its over.

I wonder why the only medal ceremony in the closing ceremony is the mens marathon? Surely the woman's marathon is every bit as arduous?

LordOfThe5Rings · 12/08/2012 22:00

Yanbu - same here :)

JeezyPeeps · 12/08/2012 22:02

(yes, I know the women's was earlier in the proceedings)

Fireandashes · 12/08/2012 22:04

Jeezy it's an Olympic tradition.

I am going through tissues like nobody's business...the highlights, the memories, the music, general sadness that the most brilliant Games ever (IMO) are coming to an end never to be repeated and pride that London and Britain put on such an amazing event.

JeezyPeeps · 12/08/2012 22:05

Yes, they said that fireandashes - but why?

Freddiebump · 12/08/2012 22:10

This choir is proper getting to me! Tissues a-plenty!

I have been the first to complain about the cost, the disruption, the possibility of terrorist attacks, the recession etc, etc,
BUT, I've really really enjoyed everything I've watched! I've cried my eyes out at the equestrian events, which are my thing.
I was listening to one of the Olympic chaplains on radio 2 this morning, and was really moved by the thought of all the different religions and nationalities pulling together.
And what has moved me most was the sheer joy on the faces of all the competitors, as they filed into the stadium tonight. We did that. We united 204 ish countries, in harmony.
