she gave birth after a difficult 12 hour labour, biggish baby 8lb 13oz,came home next morning and had no baby milk,he drove her the supermarket and told her to go in and get it as he didnt know what brand she wanted etc, very sore and tired, she went into large supermarket, walking round and collasped and badly haemorraged, and was took away in an ambulance :(

Having a baby doesn't usually incapacitate. After leaving hospital after having my first I went into the supermarket to get a decent shop (not just for milk) as the hospital was in the main town and we only have a small shop in my village.

I'm fairly sure if he was aware she was about to haemorrhage, he wouldn't have 'made' her go in the shop.

YABU.

Lucyellensmum99 · 11/08/2012 22:57

i dont think anyone will be judging you as a lier!

JumpingThroughHoops · 11/08/2012 22:57

It's just a whole JK sort of situation isn't it?

The mates daughter phoned a random coz the partner let her get milk yada yada yada

I see fake tans, tacksuit bottoms, hoopla ear rings and Croydon facelifts and 20yo BMW with iky wheel trims.

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 11/08/2012 23:03

Ok Vicky, calm down.

lilmamma · 11/08/2012 23:07

you thought thats what a dog did??? L.M.A.O

Best insult ever on mumsnet Grin

Your friend, she's not called sharron is she?

McHappyPants2012 · 11/08/2012 23:23

We can only comment with what is written in the op, most MN are not mind readers

mrsrosieb · 11/08/2012 23:27

Why did she just not tell him the brand so he could go get it? Or tell him to go in and ask a store assistant?

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 23:30

She's heard it all second hand from the friend's DD who I assume wasn't in the car either.

For all anyone knows, she might have insisted he stayed in the car with the baby while she popped in to browse the brands.

RindersGoesForGold · 11/08/2012 23:33

Based on that incident alone, I think YABU Op. I popped into a large supermarket the day after DD1 was born, leaving DH parked (in a P&C space Grin) with her while I hobbled dashed in and got the stuff I wanted to get....of course he was entirely capable, but I thought I would be quicker than he would be.

RindersGoesForGold · 11/08/2012 23:35

Oooh Twilight Zone Grin

osterleymama · 11/08/2012 23:47

Stop being so fucking nasty. The OP came on to rant about her friend who she is clearly feeling protective of.

No one but the friend and her partner know what really happened but my first reaction would be frustration (and concern) if this happened to a woman I cared about.

Some of these posts smack of ugly snobbery and plain old unkindness. What's the point of belittling someone's spelling? It doesn't make you seem intelligent.

WorraLiberty · 11/08/2012 23:52

She didn't ask if she was unreasonable to rant

She asked if she's unreasonable to think he's a complete arsehole

The general feeling is yes she is BU

It's not his bloody fault and the OP hasn't a clue what was said prior to the incident.

SoleSource · 11/08/2012 23:56

Is this yet another thread testing the morals of the British nation. You are transparent. I might LET you reply.

ShellyBoobs · 11/08/2012 23:57

If I was OP's friend and my husband was such a cunt, I'd have realised before I'd got to 5 DCs.

Hmm
icecold · 12/08/2012 00:08

There are some condescending superior cunts on your thread OP

I don't think you ate being unreasonable at all. I think if your friend was shattered from labour, then it would be pretty normal to think husband could manage to sort out some baby milk...it isn't difficult is it

FWIW, I didn't have baby milk in the house either and dd2 was 2 weeks late; but whether she did or didn't and why, is besides the fucking point

WorraLiberty · 12/08/2012 00:11

Do we know her Husband couldn't manage to sort the baby milk out? Confused

Remember the OP is posting a 3rd hand story about a guy who the OP already thinks is a 'rat' for reasons she hasn't bothered to post.

Biased much?

Birdsgottafly · 12/08/2012 00:19

If the eldest DD is old enough to have left home, then your friend cannot be a young foolish girl, especially if she is on her fifth baby.

Tbh,i could have gone into the supermarket after my 3rd. After my 2nd, i had no choice but to walk my first to school, after two days.

She may have under estimated how weak she was.

Where were the other four kids?
