As bloody wonderful as my DH was to buy our supper on the way home, including dessert, they just don't go together. He can't understand why I might want me tart on it's own! I mean am IBU?

YANBU.

I can just imagine the effects of custard in the engine.

fudgeit · 10/08/2012 22:06

YANBU, it's like putting diesel instead of petrol innit.

debka · 10/08/2012 22:06

Grin coppertop.

YANBU OP

thenightsky · 10/08/2012 22:07

Kellamity · 10/08/2012 22:08

Tarte au renault might go better with custard.
HTH

BertieBotts · 10/08/2012 22:09

Sounds crunchy!

bogeyface · 10/08/2012 22:09

YANBU!

Generally speaking, if a pudding cannot be sold at M&S with the words "Traditional English....." before it then it cant be served with custard. My chef friend told me that and he is right :o

Kellamity · 10/08/2012 22:09

Grin too much fizz!!

Inyourhippyhat · 10/08/2012 22:10

Alors, non!

QuintessentialShadows · 10/08/2012 22:11

Yanbu.

Tart First.

Then Custard on ice cream. Yum.

SlinkyB · 10/08/2012 22:11

Surely tart au-citroen should auto-matically go with double cream?

Desert choices are exhausting.

lucysnowe · 10/08/2012 22:14

Arf. I like the idea of tarte aux deux chevaux, may be a bit tough though!

SlinkyB · 10/08/2012 22:14

dessert choices Grin too much cider!

tartyflette · 10/08/2012 22:15

How about creme anglaise? French version of (real) custard, but thinner and usually served sold. It might be OK. But I would prefer a spoonful of lovely thick creme fraiche, slightly sweetened and with a few shreds of finely grated lemon peel mixed in. Or possibly a dollop of mascarpone, given the same treatment.

ReindeerBollocks · 10/08/2012 22:16

Cream, it's always with cream. Not ice cream and definitely not custard.

Arf @ engine jokes. Good old Citroen barely runs on petrol or is that because my cars diesel oops

bogeyface · 10/08/2012 22:17

I totally agree Slinky Gobi? Sahara? Kalahari? It does your head in!

SlinkyB · 10/08/2012 22:46

That'll learn me to try and be funny when tipsy.

Whatmeworry · 10/08/2012 22:48

A tart in a citroen will go with anything

Trioofprinces · 10/08/2012 22:50

YANBU, they don't go together at all.

YABU however to try and call it tart au citroen and not lemon tart unless you can write French properly. Tarte au citron...The jokes amused me though :)

Trioofprinces · 10/08/2012 22:50

Whatmeworry - that make me chuckle :)

Kellamity · 11/08/2012 08:24

Trioofprinces I disagree with your point about my drunken spelling mistake. Without it this thread wouldn't have been so funny Grin

theodorakis · 11/08/2012 08:35

pointless discussion, it may look nice but it will let you down when you need it most and would probably break down halfway through the pouring of the custard. The overall taste would be spoilt by the taste of WD40
