to think that googling the name Jessica Ennis

shouldn't automatically spring up "Jessica Ennis Bikini" and "Jessica Ennis bum" as two of the first three options.

And that it shows that sexism is alive and well for even the most successful females.

AiBu to feel incredibly sad about this..

I am not looking at the links (mine are exactly the same as yours Worra) but the predictive search words in the white box.

When I googled her the third result in the autosearch was 'Jessica Ennis FAT' for goodness' sake!

That result goes to show to me that it really doesn't matter what you achieve/how fit you are you can still be judged on your weight and called fat :(

mayorquimby · 08/08/2012 19:13

But I haven't found a male where the most searched is body related as opposed to sport.

David beckham 1. Underwear 2. Salary 3. Tattoos followed by hair and body stuff

mayorquimby · 08/08/2012 19:14

Well in fairness that's because the story of one official calling her fat was a national news story which saw the offender roundly criticised

Pochemuchka · 08/08/2012 19:49

I missed that mayorquimby. I'm glad the offender was criticised.
Fat she ain't! Fab she is!

NoComet · 08/08/2012 19:58

Or Nadal naked, sorry that will be meBlush

Human nature I'm afraid.

NotLikeThatYouWont · 08/08/2012 20:08

If other people aren't getting the same, I wonder what affects the results you get?

I can absolutely guarantee that I haven't Googled a single Olympic athlete before now, arse or otherwise. Or any bums, teeth or bikinis, for that matter.

squeakytoy · 08/08/2012 20:13

Does it not depend on what you have your search settings set to? Confused, that is why you are all getting different results!

TandB · 08/08/2012 20:18

If you try Katherine Grainger, the top one is Katherine Grainger married!

Wonder if anyone has proposed yet? There are clearly a lot of people thinking about it!

TheWonderfulFanny · 08/08/2012 20:29

You do know that google learns you don't you? So if you've been following links for body parts recently it'll suggest similar search results this time...

Try the same search on duckduckgo.com

angryfurball · 08/08/2012 20:41

Am I a dirty perv or did anyone else google her arse just because of this thread?

flixy102 · 08/08/2012 21:23

I googled Tom Daley today not perving at all and one of the options I was given was 'Tom Daley bulge'. Ooh-er.

Latara · 09/08/2012 00:45

I don't watch the men's 100m & 200m just to admire the men's cute faces & fit muscly bodies.

Because that would just be sexist obviously.

So i focus on, um, the... er....

helloclitty · 09/08/2012 07:04

Thewonderfulfanny

Yes I am very away that previous searches will come up but no this computer is just mine, I live alone and I have never googled any body parts.

helloclitty · 09/08/2012 07:06

Just done the search on Yahoo which I have never used before and bikini came up first!

SonOfAradia · 09/08/2012 16:26

Pound to a penny that a fair number of the 'bikini' or 'bum' searches are by women checking out her figure.

Just look at the covers of the celeb mags in newsagents and they usually have bikini pics of female celebs all over the front page.

SonOfAradia · 09/08/2012 16:27

Doh! at the redundancy of cover and front page. Anyway, you know what I mean. The celeb mag market is almost entirely female.
