Just that really
I'm very grateful to mum for looking after DS for weekend, while I went away.
Dh very annoyed that she couldn't get DS to phone him, or send any photos or updates

I envy you the family support, but sure dont envy you the miserable arse of a husband

HecateHarshPants · 08/08/2012 10:46

Bit prattish of him and perhaps more about his ego than anything else?

uselfullife · 08/08/2012 12:04

Well, decision had to be made weeks ago, because I had to book the flight.
Tbf, wrt the day off, he does work away a lot and couldn't say yes or no.
So we made the decision for DS to go to Grandmas. He was fine about it.

He's not pissed off about ne having a weekend away.
He knows that's fair and encouraged me to go.

I just think he's had a lonely weekend and started to feel sorry for himself. Not remembering the reasons DS went to Grandmas.
Childish, egotistical, yes.

I did have a fantastic time, but his moaning has taken the edge of it.

DS had the best time at Grandmas!

Photos and updates over the weekend really couldnt your sons dad phoned grandma to speak to his by ? your dh is being a bit precious slap him with a wet fish and tell him to grow up Grin

eurochick · 08/08/2012 12:16

I agree with the majority. Surely he should just be grateful to your mum?

I'm also laughing at the idea of my parents, if they were ever in this situation, sending photos. I've only just managed to help them work out email! Email attachments or MMSs are probably beyond them...

I have friends with husbands like this. Can't commit to taking a Friday off work for our girls weekends away but never seems to be a problem when it's their golf weekend or whatever.

I just think he's had a lonely weekend

I mentioned this in a previous post, why was he sitting at home feeling sorry for himself instead of out with his friends? Or enjoying the fact he had two free days for whatever his interests are?

Oh well, at least you and your son had a great time!

uselfullife · 08/08/2012 14:34

I think he was probably looking forward to a quiet weekend doing nothing, watching olympics.
He usually has very busy week, so looking foreward to peace and quiet
But in reality he got a bit bored and restless
And started to overthink things

Gosh, you seem quite unfazed about making excuses for him

HKat · 08/08/2012 14:57

If he had been trying to contact your mum to see how DS was and got no reply, I can see his point. But he wasn't, so it's a moot point! He is def BU

Hang on while I get my violin out.

Mrsjay · 08/08/2012 15:06

He could have gone and picked his child up and spent the weekend with him please don't make excuses for him because he works during the week and i think he was annoyed you went away but i didnt want to say that before,

MNsFavouriteManHater · 08/08/2012 15:11

this is for your H

(I love having a reason to post that pic)

Margerykemp · 08/08/2012 17:05

What a whiny man child!

ssd · 09/08/2012 23:36

love the tiny violin!

on second thoughts, your ds was probably better off at grannies, even a sick one at that

your dh doesn't exactly sound like a barrel of laughs does he

Inyourhippyhat · 09/08/2012 23:50

OK, so he felt lonely. Why can't he just accept it and deal with it instead of whingeing? Being on your own means doing what you choose for a while, instead of having to fit in with everyone else. Everyone experiences loneliness, it's part of life. He could have done housework, shopping, DIY, watched the Olympics, mowed the lawn etc etc
