Don't pigeons mate for life too? Why aren't they harbingers of doom?

OP posts:
NagooingForGold · 03/08/2012 22:47

I do lots of real, true :)ing.

loook :):):)

has anyone ever died holding a world record? It must get harder and harder for the next generation. I propose that they knock you off the holder podium when you get dead, and let some new-uns have a chance. in a few hundred years it's going to be well hard.

NagooingForGold · 03/08/2012 22:48

ppigeions are harbingers of shite.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/08/2012 22:49

Pigeons are harbingers of doom.

They roost in flocks on our roof and the cats chase them across it, so you hear this 'thunk, thunk, THUNK' sound as they all take off/land at once and the stupid moggy goes jumping for them. As flakes of ceiling plaster float down, auguring further demolition to come ...

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 03/08/2012 22:49

Would that not defeat the point of worlds oldest man / woman. Surely that record has to stand? Grin

OP posts:
LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/08/2012 22:49

Or, what nagoo said.

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 03/08/2012 22:50

No that make pigeons harbingers of fucking daft cats

OP posts:
LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/08/2012 22:51

Cats can be doom too, honey

(See worrIdidthere?! See!)

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/08/2012 22:51

God I'm sad.

NagooingForGold · 03/08/2012 22:58

you can tell who has roof insulation because of pigeons.

You ought to get some, and fend off those 'free grant' doorknockers, LRD

AbsolutelyNotHoneyDragon · 03/08/2012 22:59

Little bit sad, yup. Grin

OP posts:
DoomCatsofCognitiveDissonance · 03/08/2012 23:15

Sorry. Blush

nagoo - please tell that to my LL!

Foslady · 03/08/2012 23:22

I heard the other day on Bill Baileys birdwatching programme (yes I was that bored!) that it's because they mate for life so one on it's own has no partner......unless it's footloose and fancy free as the female contestant said.......

Foslady · 03/08/2012 23:24

I like magpies - they dive bombed the bloody pigeons that kept eating my grass seed!!!

CaliforniaLeaving · 03/08/2012 23:25

Magpies steal anything shiny, they will take all your valuables if left where they can get at them.
One pinched the shiny milk bottle tops off the window sill when I was a little kid, we were saving them for some collection thing.

CaliforniaLeaving · 03/08/2012 23:26

Oh if Magpies are unlucky because of the mating for life thing, then that would make penguins and Swans and Lobsters unlucky too.

NagooingForGold · 03/08/2012 23:36

TBF any lobster I've seen has been vair unlucky Grin

See, penguins are black and white and mate for life, yet no one salutes a penguin.

Where is Lord Lucan?
Botswana

What is the jeffin' purpose of the smile emoticon?

It is for when one is short of cash, simply print on paper and sell each sheet of A5 for £20, it is so no MN user is without funding.

What actually makes Magpies unlucky?

And
Is the pope really a catholic?

icecold · 04/08/2012 00:04

Haha quote

I never thought of that before!

quoteunquote · 04/08/2012 00:44

Kayano · 04/08/2012 01:33

I ALWAYS salute magpies

And I maintain that this is the reason my life is so freaking awesome. If you don't do it you will be miserable and full I sorrow
