that people who grab tables at self service restaurants without getting food dirst

owners of small kids etcetc ussual conditions apply
it REALLY annoys me.
this messes up the flow of traffic and one person sits there hogging a space where 4 people could get in eat AND have left byt he time their person arrives

Start again.. If people choose to walk their whole family around with plates of food going cold then more fool them for not making sure they had somewhere to eat it before ordering.

And if you are in your own you merely find a table with only one person and say 'excuse me, is this seat taken?'. If you have a family of small DC s you want to sit together and not have them spread around the tables!

Load of rubbish! Theres no way someone could eat and be gone in the time it takes to que and get food. Unless you are a wild dog who woofs food down!

Anyway, I prefer that my children are sat down and not walking around waiting to have hot drinks/food split on them while I que. Theres no way I can manhandle a tray of food and push a buggy all whilst holding a toddler anyway!

So if you go in a self service cafe and see just 2 or 3 empty tables and a queue of say 5 people in front of you, it's okay to bag a table before anyone else? I hardly think so.

if they have any sense they will all have made sure they have a seat before. Otherwise how would anyone know if it was a case of 5 individuals being sensible and getting food for the rest of their party or a group of 5 idiots queuing together and hoping to find a table?

How do you know they have Sirzy? I have never done that and I am pretty sure my parents and DDs would not behave in such a selfish way either. Some people are not brought up to think me first and do not consider good manners idiotic.

Sirzy, I would ask a staff member to eject a table hogger so I could sit down and enjoy the food I had paid for while it was still hot.

I'm not disagreeing with you sue! I was saying, yes, some people would barge in and grab a table in the situation you describe and would then be left looking like tits when the people coming from the till with their meal stick their food down, pull up a chair and tuck in!

And if I was waiting for food that was about to come I would refuse to move so ask away.

I still want to know where this is such an issue though, everywhere I go people find tables and then order. I have never seen all these people walking around struggling to find a table with trays of food

Feel free to do so, if you want to come and sit with us then that is fine, as people have said over and over letting a person on their own sit with them is fine I have done it many a time.
